Welcome to Milton Park Primary School – where we all shine! ★ Children are at the heart of all we do.
Operating as usual

Year 2 wrote their own Christmas Calamity stories. Year R and Year 1 were lucky enough to hear the authors read them!
The children listened beautifully to each other and ended the session asking each other about their Christmas holidays.

The Milton Park Elves have been busy again this year!

We enjoyed Christmas lunch and jumper today! Thank you to our wonderful cooks in the kitchen and thank you also to one of our lovely parents who bought Christmas hats for all of the children to wear with their lunch.

Thank you to David from Southsea Synagogue who came to talk to Year 4 about the symbol of Hanukkah as part of their RE learning.

Christmas isn't complete without a festive emoji challenge 🤣🎁
Can you work out the value of each emoji?

It's beginning to look a lot like Chistmas at Milton Park Primary School 🎄❄️☃️

It was, as ever, a pleasure to welcome Milton Park Primary to St James this morning for Assembly. The choir sang beautifully and we thought about waiting for Christmas- and glimpsed a bit of the Christmas spirit by giving Mrs Fowler and Ms Middleton festive hats!

Thank you to Fr Hugo for leading our assembly at St James' Church, Milton, Portsmouth. UK We had a lovely morning learning about advent and lighting the first advent candle. Our choir sang beautifully and Fr Hugo also sourced some rather fetching festive headwear!

We went to the polls last week for This was launched in Monday's assembly by the Pupil Leadership Team. In keeping with this year's message of 'Make A Difference', The Pupil Leadership team canvased the views of the children in their classes on the things they thought would improve their school experience. From this, they short listed 6 options and the whole school got involved by voting for their choice at the 'polling station'! Ballots were secret and children could only vote the once (we learned that spoilt ballots don't count!)
The votes were then counted and verified and we are excited to announce that 'Outdoor Play Equipment' was the winning decision! The pupil leadership team will now be going back to their classes to create their wishlist for outdoor games!

Well done to the staff, children and famililes at Milton Park Primary School! You raised a SPOTACULAR £268.12 for Children in Need 2022 💙

Did you go and see the fairy and elf doors at ? We think they looked magical! 🧚♂️💙🧝♂️

We are supporting Children in Need on Friday 18th November. The theme is 'BE SPOTACULAR'. Children are welcome to come to school dressed in spotty non-school uniform. We'll have buckets out on the playground in the morning to collect your donations 💛

Thank you Community at Fratton Park Tesco for donating bread rolls for our Kingfisher Club. They went down a treat!

Some of our children took part in a fairy and elf door craft session. These will be displayed in the art installation in Victoria Park as part of 'We Shine Portsmouth 2022'. Portsmouth Creates

We launched with Odd Socks Day! Chrildren and adults wore odd socks to celebrate what makes us all unique 💙

This year, we paid our respects for Remembrance at St James' Church, Milton, Portsmouth. UK in an assembly led by Year 6 pupils and Father Hugo. Mrs Mansbridge and a group of pupils also joined the Lord Mayor and Members of the Birtish Legion bearing standards at Milton Cemetary and the whole school observed two minutes silence at school too.

We enjoyed learning about our local area history during our visit to the The D-Day Story. The visit really helped us understand the role Portsmouth played in WWII and brought our school project to life.

Anti-Bullying Week is Monday 14th - Friday 18th November. We will be launching this with Odd Socks Day on Monday 14th. This is where adults and children are invited to wear odd socks to school to celebrate what makes us all unique. Anti-Bullying Alliance

Milton Park Primary School – where we all shine! ★
We are an inclusive school which values the contributions made by each child and their family and are proud of the cultural and linguistic diversity of our school and its community.
We believe that our school is an inspiring place which energises learning and encourages children to develop an enquiring mind, a desire for knowledge, high personal expectations and understanding and respect for others. Our children receive a creative curriculum which is engaging and memorable and encourages children to want to learn, including via a range of enrichment opportunities that are intended to be both inspirational and aspirational for all of our children. We also recognise that good self-esteem is essential in enabling our children to lead happy and successful futures and we aim for all in our school community to ‘learn, grow and shine and be valued members of society’.
♥ The children here at Milton Park are at the heart of everything we do and every decision within the school is made by firstly considering what is in the best interest of our children. Our values of respect, pride, community, kindness, positivity and inclusivity are an integral part of school life and support the ethos of the school. We want to ensure we are providing our pupils with the skills required to live in modern Britain as responsible citizens.
