This week, the children had an exciting opportunity to visit the D-Day Museum as part of their History unit on World War II. They thoroughly enjoyed exploring the museum, taking part in a hands-on WW2 workshop, and observing the incredible embroidery and tapestry on display. One of the highlights of the day was even stepping aboard the landing craft!
The children were engaged, curious, and enthusiastic throughout, making it a truly memorable experience for everyone. They had a fantastic day and represented our school brilliantly!

Lower school were very lucky to get a chance to see the band Cordelectra . Their mix of classical and modern styles through the use of electric instruments had us hooked. They played a range of songs from classical music to today's biggest hits. Thank you to Mrs Beggs for organising this.

A huge well done to one of our year 3 pupils, who spent part of his half-term holiday designing and creating this fantastic wildlife hotel! 🐞🐦🌿
He carefully thought about every detail, using bright colours to help attract birds and creating a unique circular display to provide insects with places to hide and shelter. His creativity, effort and consideration for nature have truly impressed us. Mrs Powles was delighted with this pupil's hard work, and is proud to say that his wonderful wildlife hotel will take pride of place in our Fernhurst Garden for all of our wildlife to enjoy.
Thank you, for your amazing contribution and for helping to make our outdoor space even more welcoming for nature.

Who needs Victorious Festival when we have the year 3 glockenspiel performance! Year 3 delighted parents with their recent performance of different songs they have learnt to play along to. Thank you to all the parents and carers who came along and joined in with the performance.

Year 3 had an amazing sports day this week and even managed to get out in the sun for a few events. Congratulations to all of our medal winners and participants.

Fernhurst Garden Ambassadors were busy for the afternoon despite the very heavy rain they worked very hard at litter picking, weeding and even planting new seeds. It was a very successful afternoon of hard work.

Last week, the children in Year 5 proudly completed their Computing 3D modelling unit using Tinkercad. They brought their creativity to life by designing and creating their own avatars, building on ideas from previous lessons—such fantastic effort and imagination from everyone!
We also had a very special moment as we released our class butterflies into the garden area. The children have carefully observed their lifecycle over the past few weeks, so it was wonderful for them to see the butterflies take flight. They all thoroughly enjoyed the experience and showed great curiosity and care throughout 🦋
