Year R Trip - Cancelled
Due to a power outage at the school today, we regret to inform you that the Year R trip has had to be cancelled. Unfortunately, this is due to logistical challenges and the schoolโs phone lines currently being unavailable, meaning we are unable to communicate effectively with families while off-site.
We apologise for any inconvenience caused and appreciate your understanding. Further updates will be shared as soon as possible.
Due to an unexpected power cut, the school is closed today for the safety of all pupils, staff, and visitors. Please do not bring your child to school until further notice. We are working closely with the relevant services and will provide an update to all families as soon as possible regarding reopening arrangements.

It may be half term, but at BV our love of gardening doesnโt stop! Throughout the year, our children work hard to develop our outdoor spaces, from creating wildlife-friendly habitats to building our sensory garden around the boat.
National Childrenโs Gardening Week is all about encouraging children to get outdoors, explore nature, and discover the joy of growing plants.
If youโre looking for something to do at home this week, why not try:
๐ป Planting seeds in pots or containers
๐ Creating a bee-friendly area with flowers
๐ฟ Growing herbs on a windowsill
๐ชด Reusing everyday items (like old boots or tins) as planters
Gardening is a wonderful way for children to learn new skills, build confidence, and connect with nature, all while having fun. We added a picture of a few quotes from the children after asking them about their time gardening.
Weโd love to see what you get up to! Feel free to share your gardening photos with us! ๐ธ

๐ผ Busy Bees in the Garden! ๐ผ
It was a small group after Sports Day but we were busy as bees, for the bees ๐
We planted out courgettes, tomatoes and fuchsias - bees like to visit their flowers for food.
We sowed lots of bee-friendly flower seeds to feed the bees later, as well as more peas and beans.
After the sunshine, there was a lot of watering that needed to be done to keep the garden growing.
The children were also able to pick a posy of sweet peas to take home!
(The flower bed image is of our โPollinator Patch. Some plants have grown back from last year and other seeds were sown by the autumn garden team.)
