This week we have started an exciting new activity for our preschools.

We have chosen to include TastEd within our curriculum, it covers many areas of learning such as, Personal, Social, Emotional Development, Understanding Of The World and Self Care.

Then benefits of TastEd are; allowing children to be more mindful around food and to give them the space and confidence to talk about their likes and dislikes. TastEd is nurturing and a positive way to reconnect with sensory pleasures of food. Through the two golden rules, no one has to like, no one has to try.

Our children at PG were very much engrossed, we began chatting, using describing words, such as hard, smooth and crunchy to describe apples. We asked the children about differences and they noticed that the apples were different sizes and colours.

Then children went on to use amazing chopping skills and everyone was keen to have a taste. of apple. To end the session, as a group, we put the apple life cycle pictures in order and chatted freely about how apples grow.

Well done PG Preschool, we can’t wait for our next TastEd session!

🇨🇳🥠Chinese New Year! 🇨🇳🧧

For the last 2 weeks we’ve been celebrating Chinese Luna New Year, the year of the rabbit 🐰

We have been trying different types of Asain food including prawn crackers, vegetable spring rolls and fortune cookies 🥠 All our little fishes really enjoyed trying new different food 😍

It’s a tradition in China to give little red envelopes with money inside to people they love. Our little fishes made their own money envelopes with a little chocolate coin to take home 🧧

This week we’ve had our new manager Laura come over for the week to say hello, all our fishes loved her and love playing with her.

A group of children decided they wanted to make a talent show for the teachers and friends to watch. The girls dressed up in princess dreses and made magnetic microphones to be used whilst they sang to us! And the boys wanted to do some break dancing! 💃🏼🕺🏼🪩 we loved the show and everyone was really positive, taking turns and clapping for each other ♥️

At the end of the week the girls wanted to make a ‘cave den’. They asked for the sleeping mats and to make an arch for the den with all the blankets. The girls were very proud of their den and played really nicely.

We hope you all have a lovely weekend and we will see you all next week! 🐠♥️

✨ Happy New Year!! ✨

It’s been great to see all our little fishes faces again and new faces to start the new year off!

The last few weeks we’ve been really busy getting back into things at pre school.

To start off the year it’s Big School Birdwatch till the 22nd January. Our little fishes have been exploring outside in our playground to hear any birds sounds and if so if they can also see them. We’ve also got pictures all around our room of different types of birds that we can see whilst out or in our gardens. 🦅🦆🦜

Walker Book Week - We’ve been having great fun reading some of our favourite books in circle / quiet time by the Walker books including ’We’re Going On A Bear Hunt’. 🐻📚

Chinese New Year - This week we are starting the celebration for Chinese New Year, the year of the rabbit! 🐰🇨🇳
We started making our own little red money envelopes 🧧 and trying different types of asian food. All our little fishes really enjoyed today and trying some prawn crackers 🥢

We can’t wait for the rest of the week and next week for more Chinese New Year activities!

🎄LAST WEEK BEFORE CHRISTMAS!🎄

What a lovely last week we’ve had before breaking up for the Christmas Holidays ✨🎄

We’ve done lots of arts this week creating Christmas cards for our families, decorating Christmas decorations, mark making on our Christmas bag and then baking our own home made mince pies! They were very delicious! 🥧⏲️🎨

Sadly due to unwanted germs we didn’t get to have a big Christmas party but instead we had a Christmas party week! We’ve done lots of Christmas dancing and even had a surprise visit from the big man himself giving all our little fishes gifts for being so good! 🦠🎄🎅🏻

Massive thank you to all the parents that brought in gifts and donated money for us, we really appreciate it! 🎁💝

We hope you all have a great Christmas / New year and enjoy the break with family and friends 🥳🎊

See you all on Tuesday 3rd January 2023! 💕 🐠

🎄🎅🏻Christmas Week 1!🎄🎅🏻

What a fun pack week we’ve had preparing for Christmas!

🎄🎅🏻❄️We have made some amazing Christmas decorations ready to put on our Christmas trees, our fishes have had a go at cutting them out with clay and then painting them once they were dry. They’re looking fantastic! Then we’ve started decorating our paper Christmas bags ready for our little fishes to put all their artwork in to take home for the Christmas holidays! 🐠🎅🏻🎄

As the temperature has been dropping outside our little fishes haven’t wanted to go outside for as long as we normally do, so we’ve been making things instead. We’ve made homemade play dough which we know our fishes love and then a tuff tray with different types of pasta and threading the macaroni onto spaghetti.

Next week we have lots more fun Christmas activities and also now doing a week long party to celebrate Christmas!!!

We hope you all have a lovely weekend and we will see you next week! ♥️❄️🐠

♥️All about me ♥️

This week we’ve been learning about each other and why all of us are different in different ways. Our little fishes really enjoyed looking at each other and seeing differences. 👧🏾👦🏾🧒🏼👩🏼🧑🏾👩🏽‍🦱👱🏼‍♀️👩🏼‍🦰👨‍🦰👩🏾‍🦲👩‍🦳

We’ve started our new board this week and doing little posters about ourselves and either drawing a picture of themselves or a photo brought in from home. It’s starting to look great on the wall! ♥️

We’ve really enjoyed sitting in circle time this week reading stories all together. 📚

Our fishes have done great this week as well using knives for cutting up their food! 🍴

Lastly we have made some playdough throughout the week and absolutely loved it! Making all sorts from it. 🎨

Another wonderful week and we hope you all have a great weekend and see you next week! ♥️

➕➗➖Maths Week & Children In Need ♥️♥️♥️

This week has been Maths week and we’ve had great fun playing different types of maths games and using maths in our day to day life➕➖

We’ve played shape bingo matching up the shapes on our shape boards. 🔴🔷🟪All our little fishes did really well knowing most of their shapes and the colours. We even had a go at counting how many faces or corners we have on a shape.

Our little fishes have been building with DUPLO and counting how many blocks they have and also balancing toy cars on top of each other.

In the playground this week we’ve had LOADS of leaves that have fallen onto the ground. We’ve had lots of fun helping sweep them up and then throwing them up into the air and having a ‘leaf fight!’ 🍁🍂We’ve also looked at how the leaves are different shapes and colours putting them into a bin bag.

Friday was Children In Need Day so we’ve created our own Pudsey with clay🐻♥️

We have now made a ‘Feelings Corner’ over by our drawing area to help us become aware of different feelings our fishes may feel and making them know it’s okay to express whatever they are feeling and also talking about it 🙁🤢☹️😭😊😁😅😴

Another great week at Fizzy Fish and we hope you all had a lovely weekend! ♥️🐠

📚Children’s Book Week & Remembrance Day ♥️

This week we’ve been doing lots of reading including all our favourite books! Some of our fishes were kind enough to bring in their favourite books from home to share with friends. There’s also been lots of reading in our quiet area with taking turns and sharing books from the book case. 📚

♥️This Sunday is Remembrance Day, so to respect and thank all those that have fought for our country, our little fishes have created their own poppies which are now on our window. Everyone did a great job and they’re looking beautiful! ♥️

Other activities this week have included making a ginormous slide out of different objects cross the floor and role play including Snow White and giving each other a poison apple! 🍎🤒

Lots of our fishes have really enjoyed playing with the moon sand and sorting objects. Making cool towers with the moulds and sorting different colours and putting them into the correct colour pots.

Another fun exciting week we’ve had! Can’t wait for next week!

We hope you all have a lovely weekend and we will see you all next week! 🐠♥️
