UK Boarding School Fees

The cost of a UK boarding education may seem high at first. But, when you consider the quality of the teaching, the small classrooms, the high level of care and supervision, the excellent accommodation and food, it describes a very cost-effective package. Fees differ extensively from one school to another. However, the 2019 Independent Schools Council (ISC) annual census showed that the average boarding fees per term for students at ISC-member senior boarding schools was £11304, with daily fees at £6634. ISC-member prep boarding school fees are a little less, at an average of £8406 per term for boarders and £5226 per semester for day pupils. Also, the average boarding fee across the prep, senior, and sixth-form age groups at ISC-member schools was £11565.

Can I Study at UK Colleges without an IELTS?

Yes, it is possible in some cases. Those who want to study GCSE and A-Level and are under the age of 17 can take the college’s internal English exam at the UKstudy office. Similarly, some universities have their own internal language exam in addition to IELTS, which they also approve. In addition, if the last degree you have obtained is from the countries listed below, you are exempt from providing the IELTS certificate. Required IELTS and TOEFL Scores for Studying at UK Universities

What are the minimum IELTS and TOEFL scores needed to study at UK universities?
It depends on the applicant’s age and level of education. But, generally for GCSE, A-Level and foundation courses, IELTS band scores 4.5 to 5.5 are required. Furthermore, an overall band score of 6 for Bachelor degrees, 6.5 for Master’s and 7 for PhD courses are needed.

I have studied in the field of X, and I have an intermediate English level. I have passed some English courses as well. Do I need an IELTS certificate?

The applicants who are under the age of 17 do not need to show English language proficiency certificates for GCSE and A-Level. UK universities accept IELTS scores and most universities accept the equivalent scores in TOEFL and PTE exams. Many universities have their own English tests as well. Furthermore, if you have UKVI IELTS and none of the scores is below 4, you can attend Pre-master, Pre-sessional and extended courses.
