My Bodybuilding Show Season Recap🏆
Well here we have it, 8 months of pure dieting, pure graft day in day out. My first bodybuilding vendetta.
This year was a whole new experience compared to my first showing being in 2019 as a men’s physique athlete. (Swipe to see the 5 year transformation!)
So that’s posing trunks for bodybuilding & board shorts for men’s physique, meaning different poses, legs on show & a lot more muscle is needed.
And what a ride it was, I learnt & experienced a lot. Yes I would have liked higher placings but I know where I stand in the bodybuilding category now and I’ve improved drastically since 2019 and that’s the main thing.
I’ve improved in every aspect possible, and competing in this category back then wouldn’t have seen me placing so I’m proud of that.
I’m truly content with what I achieved this year, doing this all whilst running my own full time coaching business which back then was no where near the level it is at right now.
So I can safely say I’m happy, but always wanting more is what I strive for in all aspects of life. So me wanting to do better is only normal for me.
At the end of the day beating your former self is what everyone should be striving for & I’ve done just that.
It’s You vs You🤝
But when we do go again we will be aiming for the top spots, 2-3 years out minimum needed as we need more size aka more muscle all over.
So until that day comes we keep on growing, the gaining phase starts now!

How important is guidance❓
Well you could ask my client David
Who wasn’t seeing much change at all to his physique or progress in the gym
All because he was lacking the guidance to get him from A to B.
He was new to having proper structure & actually following a plan
That was enjoyable for him and suited his lifestyle
Which is so important!
Because there is one thing not having a plan
But then if you have a plan you don’t enjoy or doesn’t work for your work life
Then you will never stick to it & then see no progress.
So that’s what I gave David, the guidance necessary
For him to excel in his progress,
He now looks fantastic with visible changes to his midsection
And overall strongest he’s ever been.

STOP Wasting Time⏳
I see this time & time again,individuals who want to achieve their goals, better their health & want to feel confident again.
But…
They keep wasting time not taking any action towards anything
You have got to start putting in the time to actually achieve any of these 3 things
I’m afraid praying really hard isn’t going to cut it.🙏
Start making the effort & you’ll start seeing the results
Nothing in life that’s really worth having comes easy
That means you have got to put the work in.
NOW is always the best time to start
when it comes down to your goals,
health & confidence!🙌

Are You Struggling To Grow Your Arms❓
Well then I’ve got you sorted, here are a few things you should be focusing on!⬇️
➡️Contractions
Make sure you are feeling each exercise you do. It's too easy to just swing a barbell up and down without actually using your biceps, all you are doing is using momentum. Drop the weight, get full ROM & actually use your arms & squeeze them hard.
➡️Volume
Now when it comes to volume I like to do 6-8 sets for bicep & triceps split between two different variations of exercises. Focusing on keeping the rep range between 8-20 reps, whilst still working on progressing weight/reps each week. There is no need to be doing heavy sets for 4-6reps, all this will do is put yourself arms in a vulnerable position to get injured & isn’t worth the risk.
➡️Do your heavy pull & push exercises!
Our arms are always being put under heavy load whenever we do any heavy pulling or pushing movement, the bicep is the secondary muscle & when doing any pulling movement & our tricep is the secondary muscle when doing any pushing movement. So making sure you are not just focusing on doing curls and extensions but also training heavy when targeting our much bigger muscle groups.

You’ve Just Got To Start Now…
One thing I always hear is
“I’ll start when it’s a better time”
So if nows not a good time then when is?
It will likely end up being never
Unless you just start now.
Don’t put your goals & happiness on hold just for a couple weekends & events🙅♂️
They will always be there, they come around all the time.
Plus you don’t need to sack these weekends & events off
We can make sure you’re prepared for them when they come around
You have just got to start now.

WHEN TO ROTATE AN EXERCISE❓
We don't want to regularly rotate exercises and it’s something I see far to often.
You want to be able to be good and get as strong as possible at that exercise till it's fully exhausted, if you rotate them to often you’ll never be able to maximise your potential muscle growth from any given exercise you do.
Reasons to rotate an exercise⬇️
1️⃣ Struggling To Progress. Eventually after months of progressing an exercise we will hit a plateau.
You should then run it for a 3-4 weeks making sure all variables around training are not the reason for the down fall, still no change then you should rotate it for a different movement. E.g. RDL replacing a deadlift.
2️⃣The Exercise Doesn't Fit Your Bio Mechanics. It is very important that you do exercises that work for you & not just because it's seen to be a popular exercise.
If it doesn't generally feel good nor actually aid to muscle growth for you then why do it, rotate it for something more suited to you. Choose an exercise that you feel works the targeted muscle group(s) effectively.
3️⃣Injury Prevention. If an exercise starts feeling a bit off and seems to be doing more harm than good, then you may need to rotate it for a different exercise.
This can occur after many weeks of progressing & doing the same exercise. But again make sure all variables around training are on point and you are not lacking on rest & food, only then should you think about rotating it.
So now you know. Just keep hammering the same exercises for consistent months & you’ll benefit far greater in the amount of progress/muscle growth you’ll see.🤝

Im Doing It Myself, I Don’t Need A Coach…
Something I hear all the time
When speaking to individuals about their training
Great you’re doing it yourself don’t get me wrong
But…
Majority of the time these people aren’t in a position to be doing it themselves
You can guarantee that a few months down the line they are still looking the same
Still shifting the same weights around the gym
And still stuck saying they don’t need any help.
Im sorry to say it but you do
And this is not a bad thing at all so don’t be disheartened!
Having someone that knows exactly what to do, to guide you to your destination
Will help you level up in many ways from
Physique & mindset to attitude towards having help.
See it like this
If you had to get to a destination but had no idea how to get there how would you get there?
Well you would use a GPS
To get rid of the stress of trying to find which roads to go down & so you don’t get lost
I as the coach am your GPS towards your destination/goal
You would use me to help you
But the difference is you wouldn’t think twice about using a GPS to help you
So why not accept help to better yourself?
Excel your progress?
And reach the goals you’ve set out to reach?
Be like , he did exactly that
He took the help, saw the benefits & reaped the results.🚀
