REMEMBER • REFLECT • CREATE

Our Remembrance Inter-House Competition is here!

This year, students at Atlantic Academy Portland are being invited to come together to remember, reflect and express their creativity as we mark Remembrance Sunday.

Led by our History Department, and working alongside Art, English and Maths, students can take part in three exciting challenges:

Wreath-Making Challenge – Design and create a wreath inspired by Remembrance and the symbolism of the poppy.

Remembrance Poetry – Write an original poem exploring themes of remembrance, sacrifice, courage, conflict or peace.

The First World War: By the Numbers – Explore the impact of the First World War through statistics, creating an informative and engaging visual representation.

Every entry is an opportunity to represent your House! Winning entries will earn valuable points towards our Inter-House Cup.

A very special opportunity: Winning students will also be invited to attend the Remembrance Sunday service at the cenotaph in Portland, with selected wreaths laid as part of the commemoration.

Deadline: Monday 9 November
Students can submit their entries to their History teacher's room.

We cannot wait to see the thought, creativity and care our students bring to these challenges.

Three Houses. One Academy. United in Remembrance.

Lest we forget.

🍝 Year 10 Get Cooking! 🍅

Our Year 10 students have been getting hands-on in the kitchen, having a go at making their own homemade pasta and fresh tomato sauce!

A fantastic opportunity to develop their cooking skills and create something delicious from scratch. We can’t wait to see what they make next! 👩‍🍳👏

Thank you to all the adults that attended Narwhal’s exit event today. It was as lovely to see you supporting your child, by creating your individual family trees and sharing together our class ‘All About Me Audio Book’.

All of which has helped support your child to answer this term’s driving question, ‘What makes you unique?’
