Hey guys! 🤗

Our new booking link to our next Smylie Sensory term is now live!🤩

Due to bank holidays & my own personal holidays, this term will only be 5 weeks long, dates for these weeks are:
✨ 9th May
✨ 16th May
✨ 23rd May
✨ 30th May
✨ 6th June

I will be holding one class for babies aged 0-12 months old, at 9.30am - 10.15am on Monday mornings in Portadown Town Hall!🥰

I can’t wait to see everyone for a magical sensory experience for both baby & adult, creating those special bonding times & watching how our babies develop through the use of sensory movement & play!👶🏻

I have had an amazing 6 weeks getting to know all mamas and their babies while having alot of fun singing, moving and creating sensory experiences for the little ones!✨

✨WORLD BOOK DAY✨

We know those times when reading stories, rhymes or poems to our babies are an amazing bonding experience (also filled with lots of cuddles!), but do we know about the other benefits these special times have?

Singing, reading, talking & rhyming to our babies from birth profoundly influences their literacy & language development while also equipping our little ones with the tools they need to develop important emotional & social skills! 👶🏻

Even though our newborn won’t understand the meaning of the words we are saying to begin with, however the rhythm and sounds of words stimulate & develop our babies hearing, proving to lay the foundations for good listening skills, used later on in life!🤗

So, grab a good book for you & your baby to enjoy and grow their imagination while learning about the world around us! 🌈✨

✨THE IMPORTANCE OF TUMMY TIME✨

We are always told how important tummy time is for our little ones, but why is it so important??

Giving our babies opportunities to explore and move around while engaging in tummy time not only works towards preventing positional plagiocephaly (flat head syndrome) and positional torticollis (muscle stiffness in neck), but also builds the foundations for important motor development! 👶🏻

While babies are interacting and moving about in tummy time, not only are they having fun exploring, but this time is crucial in strengthening those neck, shoulder, back and head muscles that our babies need to meet motor milestones such as, rolling, sitting & crawling!🤗

Tummy time also promotes the visual, sensory and motor development of our babies, and providing them with objects & toys to reach out for and explore, this develops our babies hand-eye coordination along with strengthening fine motor muscles in our babies hands, which are needed for writing & drawing when they are a little bit older!🥰

Tummy time activities can be planned right from the day they come home and babies will benefit even from the shortest session of tummy time!🌈✨

✨IMPORTANT UPDATE ABOUT OUR 10.45AM CLASS!✨

Due to a high number of queries, we have decided to change our 10.45am classes to fit 7-12 month old babies!! 👶🏻

These classes are designed to provide fun activities to develop our little ones cognitive development, very early language skills and fine & gross motor skills through the use of songs, dance, instruments & a more physical approach allowing our babies to explore their own movements! With lots of fun photo opportunities!✨

We can’t wait to meet you & your little one at either of our Smylie Sensory classes for an overall magical experience for both adult and baby! 🌈✨

✨MEET THE TEAM✨

This is Jordan, Jordan will be our class leader for the classes being held in Portadown Town Hall!

Jordan has achieved a BA Honours Degree in Early Childhood Studies & has over 6 years experience of working with children aged 0-11 years in a range of different settings!

Jordan previously worked in a nursery setting with babies for 3 years, which allowed her to develop the knowledge & skills to understand the importance that sensory play has on the creative, physical & cognitive development of babies!

She also has a passion for the early development of children under 5 years of age and loves to sing & dance and make every day fun! 🌞
