Hammys Out Of School Care

Hammys Out Of School Care After School Care project in Port Glasgow. Closed from 28th June 2022

13/06/2022

It is with great sadness that I need to post this.

After 23 years Hammy's is closing permanently on 28th June 2022.

Our management committee has made the very difficult decision to close due to ongoing financial issues.

We have made great memories and had amazing experiences over the years and we can't thank the parents, children and staff (past and present) enough. Over the years we have been lucky enough to have you all through our doors and seen you grow up to do amazing things. We hope our younger children go on to be just as amazing.

Thank you all for an amazing 23 years.

Hi everyone

Please stay safe in this weather. I'm sure the children are enjoying a snow ❄️ day at home.

Weather permitting we look forward to seeing you all next week.

To reduce the chance of new strains spreading and to keep moving forward, everyone in Scotland with no symptoms can get two free covid tests every week.
Collect these from Boglestone or Crawfurdsburn Community centres from 3.30pm, Monday - Friday.
We’re not giving in.

Dear Parents,

It is with regret we have to advise you that due to the lack of response we will be unable to open in April. We thank the four Parents who did respond. As you will realise with the attendance of only one to four children Registered daily - two on a two weekly basis - Income would fall far short of covering wages for Staff required.

Although the Project is currently closed there are still expenses we have to cover we must therefore safeguard reserves to enable us to, hopefully, reopen in the near future when the demand allows us to.

I can assure you Staff are anxious to return to care for your children, in the meantime, we will seek to make Hammy's Project better known, in order that when we reopen in the future we will have sufficient numbers to allow us to do so.

We wish you and your families well and hope it will not be too long before we can meet.

With kind regards

Hammy’s Management Committee

Hello everyone,

The Church has given Hammys permission to re-open on 19 April in line with current Scottish Government Guidance in terms of churches re-opening. The re-opening of the service will be dependent on the demand there will be for the provision and on what numbers are like to make it viable to operate.

Therefore, we would ask you to let Hammys know as soon as possible this week what your child care requirements are in order for a decision to be made about re-opening. Hammys also understand that some parents may still be working from home and may not know themselves what they may require, in which case just let the project know that you are unsure due to working from home.

We appreciate and value your ongoing support and are dependent on you continuing to use the service for it to remain open in the long term.

Kind Regards
Hammys Managment

Hi everyone

Hope everyone is well and children primary 1 to 3 are having fun at school with their friends.

Hammys is still in furlough at the moment.

Thank you to all parents and the staff team for your ongoing support and commitment to the project. We will keep you informed of developments.

Please stay safe everyone.
