It’s been a busy morning so far for PGL. Year 4 have managed to cram, or should I say ‘stuff’, all their belongings back into their suitcases and even found time to sing Happy Birthday to Lovely Lois. They have earned their breakfast and are raring to go for their last two activities.

Well, today was bittersweet for everyone at Springdale. Today, we said “Thank you” to our amazing site manager, Mr Gosney. The phrase “not all superheroes wear a cape” is so apt for Mr Gosney. He has been our rock for 13 years. Mr Gosney, thank you. Thank you for being the best site manager that any school can wish for. Thank you for your patience and your kindness. Words cannot express how much we are going to miss you. Enjoy your well deserved retirement. Wishing you all the best from everyone at Springdale First School.

Everyone at Springdale had great fun participating in World Book Day today. Our day began with a special assembly, where we were presented with our first challenge of the day. Our challenge was to write two whole school books by the end of the day. We mixed together the ingredients for a good story, chose characters along with settings. Each year group were given a different part of the story to write.

An emergency assembly was then called mid-morning as Miss Budden’s favourite story book had gone missing. Springdale detectives were given the task of reviewing the evidence presented and find the culprit. Everyone was a suspect. Fortunately, the mystery was solved and the book was returned.

Well done everyone. You looked amazing, had great fun with both your reading and writing and were fabulous detectives. We cannot wait to read your new stories when all the parts have been put together.
