Did you know that a great way to support a child’s positive experience at school is to volunteer for the PSFA or to help raise funds for it?

Among other things our school’s group of volunteers have set up an Amazon Smile Account, a Textile Recycling Bin and a Pre-loved Uniform Rail in school, the monies raised from these get added to their charity pot along with what is raised through other fundraising events and opportunities ready to put back in to the school for the children’s well-being and fun opportunities, making school education a more positive and vibrant experience for all children that attend.

Pre-loved uniform call out!

This is the time generally our kids have growth spurts, the suns out, they’re racing around more and eating more to fuel those energy levels!

So, if you have any Upton Juniors school uniform you are happy to donate to our pre-loved rail in ages 10 and up please, we would be very grateful.

SCHOOL LOST PROPERTY:
Please be reminded that we deal with left behind clothing in the following way: anything with a legible name on is reunited with its owner.

The most common places and circumstances that lost property appears is after lunches and break times, breakfast and after school clubs and PE sessions.

Mrs Bushell our school receptionist and the PSFA have worked where they can together sorting the items so they can be returned.

Items recently sold are clothing that has not been claimed over the last 2 years of lockdown.

We as a school politely remind all parents and carers to label childrens school uniform and check every so often that it hasn’t washed off. We understand that labelling uniform can be a task in itself and are greatful for your support in getting things back when our awesome kids misplace something.

If you are short of items of uniform please come in to the school reception where the us a small selection of second hand Uniform kindly washed by the PSFA with a minimum 50p donation - all money raised by the PSFA will be used to improve the school for our children the best way we can.

It would be really great to get these winter coats new homes (rather than storing for the season) they are a minimum donation of 50p each and available from the school office. There are also a couple of school branded fleeces available.

One of the next phases to improving our school play area is to move all the outside musical equipment to this section of the play area, which involves specialist contractors but we need to raise more money through our charity the PSFA which we need your help with, they always welcome voluntary donations, sales of second hand uniform is available at the school reception and lots of events are planned so more news to come.

Here’s a reminder of what has been recently implemented with the help of the PSFA and the hard work they put in, in raising funds to make our school even better for the children that attend here, this is an amazing achievement considering we have not been able to do the normal events that they work so tirelessly to organise.

In comparison this is just the start of the amazing changes that are due for the school.

Freshly cleaned second hand school uniform sorted out by the PSFA is ready for its new homes, we just ask for a minimum donation of 50p per item. Please come in before and after school to buy.

We have plenty to go around. Just get in touch with the PSFA team for more help.

The school PSFA have been working hard with all the school lost property, it’s all been washed and dried by these amazing volounteers and sorted out for recycling.

They have sorted some items (non school branded items) to get donated into the textile bin which will turn into money for this charity.

The branded and core school uniform pieces are folded or hung ready to be sold for donations to help raise more money for the charity.

Here are just a few items, it will be great to give them new homes rather than storing for the next season.

If you child is missing pieces of uniform or like most, have had a growth spurt then please get in touch with one of the PSFA team by commenting on this post or email the school for help and we will get it sorted together. There is more available.

Summer school uniform can now be worn and second hand pieces will be available to buy soon, please get in touch if this is what you really need.

We are delighted to announce that Rafael Ghazawy has passed his ABRSM grade 3 piano with a merit! Rafael’s progress, commitment and enjoyment of music is typical of all music students at Upton Junior School. We look to sharing future successes with other students.
