The little beans helped make some fruit salad. 🍎🍇🍌
They children had different fruits such as kiwi, mango, pineapple apples and used their motor skills and a knife to cut them into pieces. The little beans spoke about the smell, colour and texture of the fruit which extends their vocabulary. The little beans worked on their personal and social skills by passing the fruit to their friends and waiting for the bowls. The little beans took pride in their cutting skills and enjoyed it for their pudding at lunch time

Our babies enjoyed a lovely trip to Poole Library 📚✨ The children explored lots of colourful books, listened carefully to stories, and enjoyed looking at pictures together, supporting their Communication and Language skills as they developed new vocabulary and interacted with others. The visit also encouraged Literacy through early experiences with books and storytelling, while helping to build confidence and friendships within Personal, Social and Emotional Development as the babies explored a new environment together.

The babies loved sharing stories with their friends. We are so proud of their curiosity and enthusiasm throughout the visit 💕

The Little Beans did an archaeological dig to see what dinosaurs and bones they could find. This helps develop their fine motor skills they used the spoons to dig and the paintbrush to brush of the sand. The little beans made different piles and then practiced their counting to see what we had more off. This develops their mathematical skills.

The two year old have been celebrating David Attenborough 100th birthday by doing some animal art. This promotes their understanding the world as we spoke about different animals and where they live. The little beans also worked on their mathematics by counting how many legs and eyes the animals have. When doing their art work the children practice their fine motor skills when holding their paint brush and picking up the different materials to stick on their animals.

Preschool have enjoyed the most wonderful sensory play activity! 💧😊

In preschool, we are focusing a lot on our emotions, discussing how we feel and what we can do to help these emotions. One of our favorite ways to support this is through reading our favorite book ‘The Colour Monster’ ! We have been focusing on the different emotions in the colour monster, and today we focused on ‘Happiness’ 👏

In our water tray, we had lots of different yellow materials that we could use. It allowed us to have sensory explorations, while also talking about the feeling of being happy! We told everyone what makes us feel happy, and how we show happiness! We talked about how happiness ‘shines like the sun and twinkles like the stars’ and how it makes you feel ‘bright’ ! ☀️😁✨

Well done Preschool 🥰

Watching children tackle an obstacle course is always such a joy! From balancing and climbing to jumping and crawling, every moment is packed with excitement, challenge, and growth 🌈

Physical exercise plays such a vital role in early childhood development. It supports gross motor skills, coordination, and overall health, while also building confidence and resilience. As children move through different obstacles, they learn to persevere, take turns, and celebrate their achievements. Communication and Language skills are encouraged too, as they talk about what they’re doing and cheer each other on!

Most importantly, it’s all about learning through play—where fun and development go hand in hand ✨

Our little ones have been enjoying the calm and connection of baby yoga sessions with Miss Ali every Thursday. Through gentle stretches, soothing breathing exercises, and playful movements, babies are supported in developing strength, flexibility, and body awareness !🧘‍♀️⭐️

These sessions also encourage early communication, emotional wellbeing, and sensory exploration, linking beautifully with the Early Years Foundation Stage, particularly in Physical Development and Personal, Social and Emotional Development. 😁🫧

It’s such a lovely way to slow down, breathe together, and support your baby’s growth in a nurturing space ✨

There’s something truly special about a simple hug 💛

Moments like these show just how important Personal, Social and Emotional Development is in the early years. Through warm interactions, children learn to build secure relationships, express their feelings, and develop empathy for others.

In line with the EYFS, these experiences support children in forming positive attachments, understanding emotions, and learning how to manage their own feelings. A hug can offer reassurance, strengthen friendships, and help children feel safe, valued, and confident within their environment.

It’s through these small but meaningful moments that children begin to understand kindness, respect, and the importance of caring for one another—skills that will support them throughout their lives.

Our little explorers have been getting stuck into a prehistoric adventure today! 🦖🌿

The children enjoyed a hands-on sensory experience in the mud tuff tray, digging for dinosaur bones and carefully using tweezers to pick up “spaghetti worms.” 🪱

Activities like this support Physical Development, as children strengthen their fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination while using the tweezers. It also links to Understanding the World, as they explore textures, investigate their environment, and engage in imaginative, dinosaur-themed play.

Through this shared experience, children are also developing their Communication and Language skills—describing what they find, asking questions, and sharing ideas with their peers. Their Personal, Social and Emotional Development is supported as they take turns, collaborate, and build confidence in their abilities.
Messy play like this encourages curiosity, creativity, and a love for exploration—learning truly comes to life when children can see, touch, and discover for themselves! 🌟

Our Baby Beans had the loveliest time at soft play!

So many smiles, giggles, and wobbly adventures as they explored the soft shapes and cosy spaces 🧸✨ It was wonderful to see them building confidence, moving their bodies, and enjoying new experiences in a safe, nurturing environment! 😁

Through play, they were developing key skills linked to the EYFS, especially Physical Development and Personal, Social & Emotional Development 🌈 From crawling and balancing to sharing and exploring alongside others, every moment was a step in their learning journey ⭐️🌟
