People have asked are we still giving training and since the changes I apologise for not updating the page.
We have a busy week with people from various industries and backgrounds upgrading their skills.
So it gives me great pleasure in congratulating Jacob Parsonage for a great day’s training and wish you every success in the boating world.

New rules for towing a trailer with a car from 16 December 2021 16/12/2021

Update 16/12/2021

The legislation has now been passed and the changes have been brought into force today, 16 December.

What this means for car drivers towing a trailer

Drivers who passed their car driving test from 1 January 1997 will be allowed to tow trailers up to 3,500kg maximum authorised mass (MAM) without passing an additional car and trailer test.

DVSA stopped doing car and trailer tests from 20 September.

You can find out more information following the GOV.UK link below.

Changes to driving licences.

DVLA will update affected driving licence records to reflect the changes.

The car and trailer category (B+E) will be added to the driving licence when a new photocard driving licence is issued.

New rules for towing a trailer with a car from 16 December 2021 The rules about towing a trailer or caravan with a car changed on 16 December 2021. Find out how the changes affect you.

B+E Trailer Licence and the Towing Law!!

The LAW is not changing on the 15th November

If you do not have B+E on your driving licence you will NOT be legal to tow anything over a combined MAM of 3,500kgs

Parliament rejected the proposed scrapping of B+E testing yesterday, on the grounds of road safety, stating there was no evidence that removing testing would improve road safety.

This goes to parliament again on the 17th November where it could be rejected a second time. Or we could get a definitive answer on what’s actually happening

We will keep you updated as we get more information
