🌞This message made my summer!
I am so lucky to have such fabulous communication with the families I work with, but this message struck a chord with me...the purest and most simplest form of success for this awesome young man.

📋Yes...we could talk about progressing through 3 book levels, over 2 years of reading age, securing 3 phases of phonics, developing fluency, accuracy and comprehension skills...but when it comes down to it, this is the goal, this is his true measure of success.

🪜When I met this young man, he placed himself on step 6 of the 10 Steps to Success, "I can read a little bit...but not too many words, it's hard. Lots of books have too many words and I like the pictures".

📚Fast forward a year and a half to where we are now! He reads to people over the phone, has 3 chapter books on the go at once, has found a favourite author and is so excited to tell me where he is up to each week, recapping and reliving the fun! He has found a pleasure in reading and unlocked a whole new world for himself.

So excited for the lovely Emily at The Reading Doctor Dorchester, as she opens the doors to her brand new space. 🏠 Created with so much love, care and attention to detail, it’s the perfect environment for her to continue the amazing work she does.
