πHUGE congratulations to our amazing PTA chair who has been nominated for a BBC Radio Solent Make a Difference Award for 2026. The Awards recognise individuals and groups who make life better for people in our communities across Hampshire, Dorset and the Isle of Wight! The nomination read:
Julia has been Chairperson of the PTA for years! Even though her children have left the junior school. She works above and beyond, hours almost everyday, unpaid. The annual fireworks display for the community with fairground, stalls, is all down to her. I see how many hours she puts in. Discos, summer Friday ice lolly stalls, countless meetings, bingo nights, breakfast for the SATS Year 6, leavers discos, balloons - she even makes the cakes for the school leavers and still manages to work half the year in a secondary school. The school would suffer without her. She does it to give something back. She never asks for anything. She is selfless. There are many times when she is giving 20-30 hours per week for free with correspondence, bookings, making sure the ice-cream van arrives for the school leavers.
We are all so proud of her and are incredibly grateful for all her hard work and commitment. What a woman! π
She could easily work and not do this. But she chooses to give. That is her. A true gem. Please let her know how much we and Haymoor Junior School appreciate her.

π§οΈππΏ Heath Trip Update β Still a Fantastic Learning Day! π
Although todayβs heath trip had to be cancelled due to the bad weather, it didnβt stop the children from having an amazing and enriching experience! π¦οΈβ¨
Our two wonderful rangers were incredibly engaging and informative π€©π. We explored the fascinating wildlife of the heath, learning about creatures such as grass snakes, adders, and sand lizards ππ¦, as well as the important role of the cows π who help maintain the heath by grazing on small trees.
The children enjoyed:
π Identifying rare heath animals using pictures
π§ Sorting images based on whether animals live on the heath or not
π Examining real snake skin β which everyone thought was VERY cool!
It was fantastic to see so much curiosity and enthusiasm β the children learnt so much and had a brilliant time despite the change of plans! ππ ππΎπΏ

Our Haymoor Girlsβ Team gave absolutely everything in the pouring rain but were narrowly defeated on penalties by Elm Academy after an incredibly competitive and closely fought match.
While the result didnβt go our way, the girls should be immensely proud of themselves. Their progress throughout the year has been incredible. From the first match to todayβs final, they have shown determination, resilience, teamwork and a fantastic attitude every step of the way.
Mr Ballard and Miss Hunt could not be prouder of every single player. You represented Haymoor brilliantly and showed exactly what it means to play for your school.
To our Year 6 players, this may be the end of your primary school football journey, but it doesnβt have to be the end of your football story. Keep playing, keep developing and keep enjoying the game as you move on to secondary school. We have no doubt that many of you will continue to achieve great things on the football pitch.
Thank you for the memories, the goals, the smiles and the incredible effort youβve given throughout the season.
π Once a Haymoor footballer, always a Haymoor footballer. π
