Girls just want to drive boats. 🚤💙

This week's RYA Powerboat Level 2 course was a little different... and such a fun one to teach!

Two friends and one of their mums joined us for an all-female course here in beautiful Poole Harbour, and over two days it was brilliant to watch their confidence grow from their very first manoeuvres to confidently taking the helm.

One of the things I love most about being an instructor is seeing people realise they're far more capable than they thought. There's nothing quite like that moment when everything clicks and they leave knowing they can safely handle a powerboat.

Whether you're thinking about buying your own boat, want to gain confidence on the water, or need an RYA Powerboat Level 2 qualification to work towards your ICC (International Certificate of Competence) for boating abroad, we'd love to welcome you on board.

From the Paralympic podium… to the jet ski seat! 🏅🌊

We get some pretty awesome people joining us on the water…

Yesterday, Noel had the pleasure of taking Leo McCrea out for a jet ski training session.

You may recognise Leo as the Paralympic champion swimmer who won gold in the 100m breaststroke at Paris 2024 🥇🏊‍♂️

But away from the pool, Leo was swapping lanes for waves and adding another skill to his adventure list!

It was an absolute pleasure having you with us, Leo — we hope this is the start of many more adventures exploring the water. 🌊

Sometimes the biggest step forward is rebuilding confidence. ⚓️

This lovely family have been boating for years, but after a few experiences on the water that knocked their confidence, they decided it was time to invest in their skills and safety.

Rather than learning on our training boat, they chose to complete their RYA Powerboat Level 2 course on their own boat — with Noel tailoring the training around them as a family.

From theory sessions to practical hands-on boat handling, every part of the course was designed around their needs.

The result? More confidence, more knowledge and the reassurance that they can enjoy their boat safely as a family.

We absolutely loved spending the weekend with them — and their 12-year-old son was a fantastic member of the crew! 🙌

Thank you for trusting us with your training. We can't wait to see where your boating adventures take you next. 🌊

Blue skies don't always mean calm seas... ☀️🌊

This week's RYA Powerboat Level 2 course reminded us exactly why.

While the harbour stayed relatively sheltered, the strong easterly winds created a very different sea state once outside Poole Harbour.

It gave everyone the chance to experience how wind direction, wind strength and tide can completely change the conditions.
The result? Some fantastic real-world learning.

Each student had their own reason for taking the course:
⚓ A newly turned 16-year-old working towards becoming a dinghy instructor.
⚓ A regular holiday boat hirer wanting the confidence and qualification to hire abroad.
⚓ A paramedic preparing to support triathlon events on the water.

Two brilliant days with a great group of students, plenty of smiles and the kind of conditions that build genuine confidence—not just tick a box.

If you're thinking about learning to drive a powerboat, remember... the best training doesn't always happen on the calmest days.

Five dads made the trip down from London for two days of PB2 training... and what a couple of days it was! 🌊🚤

A huge congratulations to the whole group on passing their PB2 certificates! From mastering new skills to plenty of laughs with Noel and Mark, it was a fantastic couple of days on the water.

They enjoyed it so much they're already planning to come back with more friends!

Travelling from London or further afield? We've partnered with the beautiful Hotel du Vin, just 10 minutes from the marina, making it easy to turn your PB2 course into a memorable coastal escape.

Make the most of these glorious sunny days and learn how to drive a Powerboat.

The Powerboat Level 2 is a brilliant, fun two day course. Most of that time is spent on the water practicing manoeuvres on our very smart RIB called Audacious.

This is the course needed for hiring boats abroad.

We have one space on Monday & Tuesday. We also have one space next weekend.

If those days dont work for you, we run this course three times a week.

So check your diary, pick a date and tag a friend who wont want to miss out!

☀️ Studland Bay today 🌊

Most of our week is spent teaching people how to confidently drive boats at Get Lost Powerboat Training.

This… is what it’s all for.

Once you’ve got the skills, days like this become easy — just pick a day, load the boat, and go.

Lobster, paddleboard, sunshine and a few hours at Studland Bay doing exactly what we teach people to do.

Enjoy the water. 🚤

Whether you are buying a boat or hiring one....

The RYA Powerboat Level 2 is a brilliant two day course giving you all the practical time at the helm and the knowledge needed to drive a boat safely.

It is also the first step in gaining a certificate to hire boats abroad.

Once you have achieved your PB2, you can then apply for an ICC - International Certificate of Competence, which is often what is required to hire boats in places like Spain, Greece, Ibiza...

After achieving your PB2 there is no need to keep hiring the pedalo 😂👍🏼 unless you reeeeally want to!!
