This young man, a dedicated member of Lun Kuen Academy, was more than embarrassed last week for breaking the leg of our Wing Chun Wooden Dummy.

At first I was mildly annoyed but that was mixed in with pride that a 15 year old had developed enough power to snap the leg clean in half.

Wooden dummies are meant to be hammered, not tickled, so credit to you Jacob 🙂

The leg has been fixed, let’s hope it can withstand its next session with you!

The Lun Kuen Academy of Wing Chun is proud to announce that this May 31st - June 1st 2025 we will be host to Grand Master Samuel Kwok at our academy 80 Ashley Road Parkstone.

Grand Master Kwok is a global representative of Ip Man Wing Chun and has affiliated schools worldwide, a direct student of Grand master Ip Chun and Ip Ching (sons of Ip Man) he has appeared in motion pictures and is teacher to the stars.

Here is your chance to meet and train with a living legend and good friend of mine.

Latest batch of gradings at Lun Kuen Academy. Seven happy guys and girls displaying their well deserved certificates.
Although this was their first grading they all handled the experience exceptionally well.
Senior gradings took place a week later, results yet to be published!

Hi All,

I have recently seen a rise in posts regarding victims of abusive relationships.

In my opinion men who hit women are NOT men and this kind of behaviour sickens me to the core.

I have a martial arts/self defence school which has been running for over 30 years and being non profit oriented, it’s not like other schools. My greatest buzz is seeing the change in those I teach for the better.

If you or someone you know is a victim of physical or mental abuse get in touch, come and see us and we will help rebuild your confidence and self esteem. This is nothing to be ashamed of.

We are prepared to teach you FREE until you have built yourself back up and after which you can either join the school as a regular student or part ways, either way, no pressure.

Why?

Because I despise bullies and believe that my skills and knowledge are there to help people and improve the quality of life.

It’s the martial arts code.
