Before the end of the summer term, we welcomed members of Sporting Bears Motor Club, the Rotary Club of Parkstone and staff from Tesco's Branksome store to celebrate the success of our annual Car Show.

The Sporting Bears presented the school with a cheque for £4,665, funds raised from donations for Dream Rides at our Car Show and Westbourne Car Show. They also brought a Bentley to school, giving some students the chance to sit inside, rev the engine and enjoy the air conditioning on a very warm day.

The Rotary Club donated sensory equipment and items to support students' learning, funded by almost £300 raised through its cake stall at the Car Show, while Tesco supported the event with tombola prize donations.

A huge thank you to all for their generosity, support and commitment to our school community.

Energy levels were high on Class Alum's trip to Flip Out Southampton.

For two hours, students climbed and slid their way around the inflatables and bounced on the trampolines, embracing every challenge with enthusiasm.

Needless to say, it was a huge hit with the class.

Sports Week continued - albeit scaled back due to the heatwave - with students taking part in a range of activities from yoga and movement sessions to boccia and fun on the inflatables.

We are looking forward to seeing students' creative costumes at our Sports Day parade, which has been rescheduled for 6 July.

Sports Week revved into action with our annual Grand Prix day.

Students set off from the starting grid – walking and wheeling round the course - with the aim of completing as many laps as possible before taking the flag at the finish line.

Huge thanks to Experience Motorsport for joining us and introducing students to motorsport.

From weighing ingredients in cooking sessions, measuring items, using shapes, to telling the time and handling money – maths runs across all aspects of school life.

We use different multi-sensory approaches to make maths accessible and fun, helping students build confidence with numbers.

Students were treated to a magical production of Lewis Carroll’s Alice in Wonderland.

Treehouse Theatre’s pantomime immersed students in a madcap adventure down the Rabbit Hole where Alice met a White Rabbit, had tea with a Mad Hatter and encountered some unusual characters.

There was music, there was laughter and plenty of audience participation, with students performing as hedgehogs and dormice.
