The International Animation Community Festival of Bilbao - ANIMAKOM FEST began in 2017 with the goal of filling an empty space in the cultural program of Bilbao and its provincial and regional environment. The festival’s aim: to show a wide selection of the best international works of animation films that would not usually be screened in the city.
After eight editions the 2024 ANIMAKOM FESTIVAL was to be the last.
We were delighted to have our 2024 graduate animation The Elevator screen in this final edition. The festival took place in Bilbao in December 2024.
We will leave you with a farewell quote from the festival:
‘ANIMAKOM was born with a deep commitment to the artists — to each of you who make up this extraordinary animation community. It has been an honour to gather in Bilbao to celebrate your work, and more importantly, your friendships and your lives.’
Thank you ANIMAKOM.
