Yesterday we met with the Dorset Police & Crime Commissioner, David Sidwick, and officers from the Purbeck Neighbourhood Policing Team to discuss recent crime affecting the town such as thefts from garden sheds, anti-social behaviour and shoplifting. These were concerns raised by residents at the recent Annual Town Assembly meeting. The meeting proved to be very useful and highlighted the importance in reporting crimes to the police to enable them to gather the relevant intelligence to bring criminal charges. The attached flyer details the ways in which you can report a crime in a non-emergency.
Purbeck Neighbourhood Policing Team will be increasing their foot patrols in the town and will also be holding a monthly pop-up Community Contact Point at the Town Council offices (Moorland Parade) over the next 3 months. The first one is being held today between 3pm β 4pm. Please do pop in if you have a question for the local policing team.
Thank you to Dorset Police and Crime Commissioner and Purbeck Police for taking the time out of their busy schedules to meet us.
