✨ Sensory Calming Sleep Tips from a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant: Part 2! ✨ You guys really loved my first video I did in this, so I decided to record some more options for you to add to your nightly routine if you wish! My son really despises the burrito roll (see first video), so having these other options allows me to include him in these sensory calming activities as we've found he tolerates these activities far better than he did the activities in part 1. ✨ 1) The Rock and Roll: provides full-body deep pressure input, with the added benefit of your child cuddled on your lap. ✨ 2) Blanket Swinging: provides a balance of calming proprioceptive and vestibular input while avoiding complete enclosure. ✨ 3) Rowing + Swaying: repetitive and rhythmic swaying is extremely calming to the vestibular system. This can help your child reset when they are overstimulated, overwhelmed, or help them manage their tantrums. These work wonders for my children. Will you be trying them with yours? Here are some of the activities that children have been enjoying at our Playhouse:

If your child has a few single words or uses some 2 words phrases, the best way to help them use longer sentences is to repeat their words back to them and add another relevant word. It seems so simple but you'll be amazed at how effective it can be. Children often echo language when they aren't sure how to put the words together themselves and this helps them to learn how.

Copiii ne privesc pe noi și ne imită. Da, ascultă cuvintele noastre, sfaturile noastre, dar cel mai adesea ei se uită și fac exact ce facem noi.

Fie că ne place, fie că nu, e suficient să ne studiem pe noi în obiceiurile și deciziile noastre și vedem în viitorul lor.

Se uită la noi și învață, fără să le ceară cineva, cm arătăm respect celor din jur, ce facem când suntem furioși sau când ne e greu și vrem să renunțăm.

Apoi, peste ani, ajung să facă mai mult sau mai puțin la fel.

Vrei să aibă un viitor echilibrat, cu relații sănătoase, cu o disciplină de invidiat și poftă de viață?

Atunci oferă-i acum un model de urmat prin felul în care îți trăiești viața, iubește-l așa cm vei vrea să primească iubire de la ceilalți și iubește-te așa cm vei vrea să se iubească el! 💕 🍏

Children have been enjoying the summer at the Playhouse Montessori Childcare, apart from our daily activities such as baking bread, taking care of environment and plants, lots of painting activities, etc, we also have enjoyed blackberry picking, long walks into the forest, celebrate birthdays and making beautiful memories.

Follow a child's imagination and interests and you will find a world full of curiosity, desire to learn, and the joy of living in the present.
