A day in the life of Conkers Magical Earth Academy this summer ✨

This is our busiest summer yet and we cannot thank you all enough for your support in our dream of bringing more magic to as many people as we possibly can and to keep the magic alive and thriving within our children. This is my life’s work and it’s such a privilege to be able to do this.

We’ve had every single day fully booked out classes, which has been amazing. Just a little snippet of our day where we had lots and lots of magical siblings. We’ve had lots of visitors from overseas and from as far as Northumberland and Manchester, many who come to see us every single year, every single school holiday, which is amazing! The children always request specifically to come to Conkers Magical Earth Academy were told by their parents and one mum even booked herself on this year for potions!

Then we had a beautiful grandmother and granddaughter in today. Little Lyra insisted on being independent and making her potion all on her own while grandma sat outside waiting. They both had walkie talkies and Lyra was giving her grandmother a blow-by-blow account of what was happening in the class and checking that grandma was still there and she’s not gonna go anywhere. It was just adorable, such a great idea.

Then we had Elvis in the building, which I’m so delighted about because I’m a huge Elvis fan. Then finishing off with a recharge in my magical garden. If you haven’t done it yet, we highly recommend wheeling your TV into your garden and finding a fairy magical background scene on YouTube and just playing it. It transforms your garden experience 🧚‍♀️

Tomorrow our lovely home ed group will be meeting from 11-12 for some crafts, and we will be making mythical puppets. I am currently creating a mini theatre for us to play around with, which will be fun to decorate !

There is space for additional children to join if any of you feel so called! Just message us if so.

We are international!

Yesterday was particularly sparkling here at Conkers ✨

It started with wand making, with a little boy called Phi; yes, as in the Golden Ratio, his grandma told me. He absolutely loves crabs, so naturally we made a crab wand.

Then dragon eggs, with a young apprentice who informed me that his dragon lives here at our academy in Upton Park and his name is Rainbow Face and his superpower is that he “breathes rainbow fire that cleans the Earth and makes all cars electric”. Good to know.

Then a little girl arrived who I recognised from last year. She and her family come from Spain and now visit us every year, at her request. I delighted in telling her that we have another little girl, Ellie, who also comes to us every year from Spain... and not even thirty minutes later, Ellie walked through the door!! I had no idea she was coming.

Honestly, the daily miracles here knock my socks off.

I was mid way through teaching our potion class, so I beckoned Ellie over and she joined me straight away to help teach. So many of the children who come here absolutely LOVE teaching and helping. They do say, if you want to learn... teach.

At the potion table we had a little girl of three called Nirvana, stirring away. Nirvana. And I stood there thinking, yes; this certainly feels like it to me.

Then another young apprentice came over rather shyly, wanting to ask me something. She whispered it: “what do witches eat”. (Pizza in case you too were wondering…)

And little Caroline from Spain asked her dad, in Spanish, to ask me whether I have always been magical since I was a child 🥹

My heart overflows.

This is the whole thing, right here. Children who feel safe enough to be curious out loud; children who come back year after year because something here remembered them; children who already know that magic is something you keep.

We are running classes throughout the summer holidays Weds through Sunday with drop-in magical crafts daily 1-3pm and we also have a FREE Magical Trail here at on daily 💫🧚‍♀️🐉🍄

Arthur.

He first came to us in December 2024, one of the last classes of that year. Nobody else was booked in; just Arthur and me. Arthur made a ‘Pristine Earth Potion’ (his words) that moved me so much I wrote it into Merlin’s Magical Academy Alumni Book.

So when he walked back in today and I greeted him by name, along with the name of his potion, he and his mum were quite surprised, as was I as we have welcomed thousands of children since then.

Some of them really stay with you. He is One.

Before I opened the box of treasures that we always do to begin our potion class I asked him: Arthur, do you remember what is in here?

Yes. Your box of treasures.

And what is inside?

“Things from your daughter.”

Two years since he last stood in that room. Bear in mind, I don’t yet have children, yet a few people have told me recently that they can feel a daughter hovering close to me, waiting to come in.

Those treasures were gifted to me by the faeries, the mermaids and the dragons when I lived in Scotland; brought down to Dorset so the children here could feel the energy and amplify their own magic. Arthur held his chosen dragon egg and felt it travel all the way up his left arm and described the sensation in great detail.

This time he brought his little brother, Nate.

After class, his mum told me something. Long before Nate was born, they were driving down a street and Arthur said, “mummy, that is the house where my brother lived.” She took it with a pinch of salt; she also never forgot it.

A few years later, driving that same road, Nate was old enough to speak. “Mummy, that is the house I used to live in.”

She cannot explain it. I do not need her to.

This is exactly why we built Conkers Magical Earth Academy. For the ones who remember that we are so much, much more than we have been led to believe.

Nate is four. His potion he told us is called “Enchantment 001”

Arthur’s Level Two Potion is called “Creation Potion”. “Good for a fresh start”, he told me… “New beginnings… For when you want to create something new”

Extraordinary, the pair of them.
