When your little girl reminds you who you were before the world tried to tell you who you ought to be.

Today’s Potion Masterclass was a very special one for me. I’ve been teaching these for 3 years now and it’s actually very rare that parents or grandparents join in, get involved and create a potion for themselves. This morning Merlin whispered in my ear that we have a very special child in today who has felt that for a very long time that they have no magic.

Pfffffft….

Dave, we hope you are reading this now and taking this in:

You are one of THE most magical Humans and the most magical dad’s that we have ever welcomed here to Conkers. You were an absolute breath of fresh air, a brilliant father to Bella and we cannot wait to see where your combined magic will take you!

As our Beloved Mary Poppins says:

“When you need me, but do not want me, then I must stay. When you want me, but no longer need me, then I have to go."

I Love You Both So.

Some of our best friends at Conkers Magical Earth Academy are the trees of uptoncountrypark.

Our magical classroom sits in the heart of the park, surrounded by them. On your way to us, we encourage children and grown ups to slow down, look up, feel the bark and say hello to a tree that catches your eye. We love the giant eucalyptus and the Indian Conker tree that sits right at our gate that has recently seeded its offspring right inside our garden!

Research links time in green spaces with lower stress and better wellbeing… we all know this. For children we see time and again the effects of green spaces on their energy. Sometimes a few quiet moments beneath the branches are just what a busy nervous system needs.

Which tree will you visit on your way to Conkers? Do take a moment to chat with them and ask questions… they have a lot to share 🌳🌱

Highly recommend this book if you are one blessed with one of these extraordinary children who know and say things far beyond their years.

Most birthday parties are forgotten by Monday. Ours have families travelling back year on year from Spain.

Here's why.

At a Conkers Potion Party, the children become the creators. They choose every single ingredient themselves... dragon breath, mermaid song, glowworm juice, unicorn wishes, phoenix fire, pixie dust and a pinch of Tree Faerie Secrets. Bottles glowing in every colour of the rainbow, shimmering and sparkling in little hands. The magic is entirely theirs.

The magical beings are very real here. The dragons, the mermaids, the unicorns, the faeries and the Elementals. The children know it, and at Conkers they are free to say so.

Since 2024 we’ve kept a book. Merlin asked us to. In it goes the name of every child who visits and the potion they create.

And here's what that book shows us. Around 85% of the children who come to Conkers create potions to help the Earth. For the animals. For the ocean and every being who lives there. For more kindness in the world.

Read that again. Given a wand and a free choice, these children choose to heal the planet.

They are already dreaming the new Earth into being. We simply hold the space.

Our Potion Parties come in two magical packages, a two hour and a three hour celebration, here at Upton Country Park, thirty seconds from the sea. Every child goes home with a potion of their own making and a memory they'll carry for years.

Call us on 01202 985413 or email [email protected] to book yours.

Save this for the next birthday on the horizon... and keep your eyes on this space, because something extremely exciting is hatching at Conkers very soon. Dragon School is coming... 🐉✨

Currently reading Miriam Lancewood’s autobiography, Woman in the Wilderness, and feeling deeply inspired by her wild, courageous way of living.

I want our fellow Conkers to know women like Miriam exist. 🌿

We are back.

I have returned from my little break in Wales with a full heart and a head full of stories. The shop opens tomorrow, Saturday, from 10am until 4pm, and Sunday from 10am until 2pm, after which we have a private party booked.

While I was away, the shelves filled up with new treasures. There is beautiful new stock in jewellery, bathing rituals and books, and I cannot wait for you to see it all.

Meet our new range of all natural incense sticks, each one arriving with its very own crystal.

The one calling to me today is Lavender with Green Aventurine. Lavender soothes a busy mind, softens tension and invites deep, easy rest. Here is a little secret many people have never heard: the Ancient Egyptians treasured lavender, using it in sacred perfumes and in the preparation of their most honoured. A plant with that much history makes a beautiful companion for our bathing rituals too. Green Aventurine is a stone of the heart, bringing gentle healing, a little luck and an open, hopeful feeling. Light the stick, hold the crystal, take a slow breath, and let your shoulders drop.

I am so looking forward to seeing you, whether you are a regular or a new face and friend. Come and have a wander, a sniff and a natter at .

Are you one of these children…
Or have you given birth to one or several of these One’s who are here to literally shake sh*t up…

If you are? Thank you! Our world needs your magic and we are so here for you, because I am you. I am the kid school tried to mould and when she wouldn’t comply, “lines” (programming)

“I must not make paper aeroplanes in class

I must not make paper aeroplanes in class

I must not make paper aeroplanes in class

I must not make paper aeroplanes in class

I must not make paper aeroplanes in class

I must not make paper aeroplanes in class…..’

Basically, I was told I was wrong for being CREATIVE and CONNECTING with my peers. That was the old world, Friends.

It’s taken me 41 years to fulfill the promise I made at 6 years of age that “one day, when I’m big I am going to create a school that we actually want to go to”

Well, I’m big now and I am doing it.

It’s early days, but we are doing it. We are 3 years in and we have a most extraordinary space and we are seeing extraordinary results.

But we need funding.

Come see us, come learn with us for we have a lot to share here at Conkers Magical Earth Academy.
