What a fantastic World Book Day surprise!

The children have been really enjoying our story Busy People: Police Officer, so it was extra special when Dorset Police came to visit us!

The children were full of curiosity and asked lots of wonderful questions while learning about what police officers do. They had great fun dressing up as mini police officers, taking part in role play, and even having their fingerprints taken.

The excitement didn’t stop there – the children were also able to climb into the police car, explore inside, and listen to the siren 🚨 Such an exciting experience for everyone!

A big thank you to Dorset Police for taking the time to visit us and make World Book Day even more memorable for the children!

It was also lovely to see all the children dressed up as their favourite book characters. We absolutely loved seeing all the costumes and celebrating our love of stories together! 📖✨

After a lovely festive chat at lunchtime about their exciting Polar Express adventures, the children were inspired to create their very own train right here at Nemos! Together they designed and made train tickets, carefully practising writing their names, using lots of wonderful mark-making, and adding plenty of sparkling glitter to make them extra special.

They then leapt into imaginative role play as train drivers, firemen and hot chocolate sellers, building their language, imagination and teamwork as they went. Experiences like this support early writing, number and communication skills, encourage creativity and help children grow in confidence as they work and play together.

A special adventure for our school leavers 🍂🍃🍁

Today our school leavers went on their final woodland walk – they sure made it one to remember! A morning full of exploration, laughter and memory-making. They searched for bugs, challenged themselves on the wooden swing, looked at the tree sap and even had a mini disco!

So much fun, so many giggles and so many memories made. We’re so proud of how far they’ve come and will treasure these moments as they take their next big step

“I’m Stickman, I’m Stickman, I’m Stickman, that’s me!”
This weeks creative corner has provided an amazing opportunity to dive into the magical world of ‘Stick Man’. After showing a great interest in the story of ‘Stick Man’, our mini inventors got to work and brought their very own stick man to life. Using just wool and natural materials, the children practised their fine motor skills to wind and twist the wool to create Stick Man.
It’s amazing to see how a story can spark such creativity! We cannot wait to see where their Stick Man adventures will take them next!

🐧✨ Happy Penguin Day, everyone! Today was full of laughter and creativity as we learned about these adorable little birds. We melted ice, made beautiful penguin pictures, and had a blast! Did you know that penguins evolved from dinosaurs? How cool is that?

🎭✨ Today was filled with excitement as our children made their way to the Christmas panto! Their smiles and laughter filled the air, and we can’t wait to hear all about their magical adventures! 🎄❤️

Smells like mince pie season!🎄🎄🎄 December has provided the perfect opportunity for the children to bake their very own mince pies! Using their fine motor skills to mix, combine, crumble and scoop out the mince, the children had lots of fun learning through baking, and taking home a tasty treat to share with their family! 😋😋😋.

🎃👻 Spooktacular Halloween fun with the amazing Nemos team! 🧡💚 It was delightful to see everyone embracing the spirit of the season with their creative costumes. From spooky to silly, our team truly knows how to celebrate !
