Back in the classroom today and it felt SO good! There's something about school life that you just don't get from other jobs - and I think the children play a big part in that. Hope everyone has enjoyed the first week!

Gosh, this academic year has been a busy one! Just to clarify my quietness on this page. I have 2 kids and work as a supply teacher as well as doing tutoring. Ordinarily, I teach part-time, but because of Covid and other reasons, this year I have been teaching full-time for quite a few weeks. Which is great, because I LOVE what I do! This week I have a few tutees sitting SATs so I wish them all the best of luck - I know you will smash it!

It's been a busy few weeks, what with back to school, teaching and meeting new tutees! I love getting to know my learners and seeing them grow in confidence as the weeks progress. Education isn't just about results, it's about the individual and there is no greater gift than watching a child flourish ♥️

Good luck to everyone going back to school this week! Whether you're starting a new school or going back to an old one, it can still be nerve-wracking dealing with new faces, routines and subjects. Even as an adult, I still get anxious the night before the new school year, worrying whether my alarm will go off, if we will walk too slowly and be late, if I've forgotten something important. So I will be thinking of you all over the next few days as we all adjust to getting into the swing of things!

Prepping for a tutoring session... Playing cards are a great resource for Maths, these will be used for times table learning, but they come in handy for teaching so many areas. One of the beauties of individual tuition is being able to focus on the learner and make it FUN!

Evening all! I've had a busy few weeks teaching, a bit more CPD and planning for some upcoming sessions as I get to know new learners. Lots of exciting times ahead!

Today has been a really good day in the classroom! I've also been listening to some great podcasts and observing others teaching. It's always great to see fellow professionals in action and pick up hints and tips on how to improve and enhance my skills, which feeds into my tutoring!
