Another Busy Week at Little Hearts Nursery.

What a wonderful, fun filled week we have had at Little Hearts.

This week, we have been enjoying the story of the Gruffalo Granny, which inspired a very special shopping trip to Tesco. The children had great fun shopping for all the ingredients needed to make Granny Gruffalo's Special Stew.

A huge thank you to the lovely Mel, Community Champion at Tesco, who went above and beyond to make our visit extra special. Mel had decorated the community room and treated us to some delicious spooky snacks.

We also got creative, making our very own Halloween masks, which we proudly wore around the store and all the way back to nursery. There were lots of smiles and giggles along the way.

In the afternoon, we put the finishing touches to our wonderful handmade pumpkins, which we had started creating with the lovely folk at the Friday Friendship Group at The Penlee Family Project.

We also enjoyed a lovely autumn walk together around Heartlands Gardens, taking in the lovely surroundings and enjoying some fresh air together.

What a week of stories, creativity, community connections, friendship and lots of Autumn fun.

A big thank you to everyone who helped make our week so special. We are so lucky to have such wonderful people in our community.

We are Going on a Red Hunt.

Our Little Hearts explorers were off on another adventure this week for our weekly trip to Tesco Extra.

This week's challenge was to see how many RED things we could spot along the way and in the supermarket. Lots of opportunities for colour recognition, observation, language development and plenty of excited chatter as we kept our eyes peeled!

We enjoyed a lovely walk through Heartlands, following the old mine tracks on our journey there and back. It was a wonderful opportunity to explore our local surroundings, enjoy some fresh air and practise our walking and road safety skills together.

Our weekly outings are about so much more than a trip to the shops. They help our little ones build confidence, independence, curiosity and an understanding of the world around them, all while having lots of fun with their friends.

Little feet, big adventures and lots of learning along the way.

Exciting Times at Little Hearts with the My Nature Play Project.

We were delighted to welcome Nelly back to our nursery again this week from the My Nature Play Project.

We are incredibly proud to have been selected to take part in this fantastic programme. What a wonderful achievement for our nursery and a reflection of our commitment to giving children the very best opportunities to learn, explore and connect with nature.

During Nelly's visit this week, we enjoyed two lovely sessions – one with our staff team and another with our parents. Both sessions were full of fun, creativity, laughter and lots of lovely ideas for bringing nature into children's everyday play.

It was a fantastic opportunity for our staff and families to get involved, try out different activities, share ideas and discover just how much fun can be had with the simplest of natural resources. From encouraging curiosity and imagination to building confidence, creativity and a sense of adventure, nature play offers so many wonderful benefits for our little ones.

The My Nature Play programme is all about inspiring children to fall in love with the outdoors from an early age, helping to nurture a lifelong love of nature. We cannot wait to put all these lovely ideas into practice and continue learning and exploring together.

A huge thank you to Nelly for visiting us and to all our wonderful parents who came along, joined in and embraced the fun.

What a lovely week we have had at Little Hearts.

This week we have been sharing and reading 'The Colour Monster' and exploring the colour yellow.

On our trip to Tesco, we had great fun looking for lots of different yellow foods. We then enjoyed some tasty yellow snacks together in the Community Room.

We also had a lovely visit to The Penlee Family Project. We started with a walk around Heartlands, giving everyone the chance to chat, get to know each other and enjoy spending time together.
Afterwards, we made cards for one another, a lovely way to celebrate our new friendships.
It has been a week full of colour, exploring, sharing and making connections.
At Little Hearts Nursery, creating a sense of belonging and helping friendships grow is at the heart of what we do.

What a wonderful first week back at Little Hearts Nursery.

It has been so lovely welcoming everyone back for the start of a new term.

We have really enjoyed getting to know our new children and their families, as well as seeing all our returning children – who somehow seem to have grown so much over the holidays.

Today we had a lovely visit from Mel, the Community Champion at Tesco Extra in Redruth. Mel popped in to meet the children and to help us plan our regular Friday morning trips to Tesco.

These trips are about so much more than a visit to the shops. We feel it is really important that our children are seen, included and involved in their local community, building their confidence and helping them develop a sense of belonging from an early age.

This afternoon, a group of our children also joined our friends at Penlee Family Project, where Sadie from Healthy Cornwall came along to talk to us about healthy foods.

We enjoyed learning together with some of the lovely Penlee Family Project folk before getting hands-on and making our own fruit kebabs and rice cake faces.

Lots of fun, lots of learning… and some very tasty creations.

What a brilliant way to finish our first week back – new friendships, familiar faces, community connections, learning and plenty of smiles.

We cannot wait to see what the new term brings.

Little Hearts Nursery is reopening on Monday 7th September

We hope all our children and families have had a wonderful summer and enjoyed making lots of special memories together.

We would like to wish all of our children who are starting school the very best of luck on their exciting new adventure. We will miss you and hope you have an amazing time.

We are really looking forward to welcoming back all of our returning children, as well as meeting the new children and families joining the Little Hearts Nursery family.

We cannot wait to see you all and begin another fun-filled year together

As we come to the end of another wonderful year at Little Hearts Nursery, we would like to take a moment to reflect on what a truly special year it has been.

It has been such a privilege to get to know each and every one of our amazing children and their wonderful families. We have shared so many precious moments together, learning, exploring, discovering, laughing, making friends, building confidence, and creating memories that we will treasure.

To our children who are leaving us to begin their next adventure at school, we could not be prouder of you. Watching you grow into confident, kind and curious little learners has been an absolute joy. We know you will go on to do amazing things, and although we will miss you, you will always be a part of the Little Hearts family.

To those returning to us in September, we cannot wait to welcome you back for another year of fun, friendship, learning and new adventures together.

This year has also brought one of the proudest moments in our nursery's journey. We were absolutely delighted to be named finalists in the Pearson National Early Year's Team of the Year Award. To receive national recognition for something we love doing every day is incredibly special, and we are all looking forward to celebrating at the finals in November.

Thank you to every family for your kindness, trust and support throughout the year. It means the world to us that we get to be part of your children's early years, and we never take that privilege for granted.

We hope you all have a wonderful, relaxing summer, filled with fun, laughter, and special memories.

What a busy and exciting week we have had at Little Hearts.

We have had some wonderful meetings with parents as we prepare to say goodbye to our children who are getting ready for their exciting move on to school. We are so proud of each and every one of them and cannot wait to see them flourish in their next adventure.

The children have also made the most of the beautiful weather by spending lots of time exploring our big garden.

We enjoyed a trip to Tesco, had great fun at Carn Brea Leisure Centre, and loved our energetic keep-fit session with our fantastic friends from Penlee Family Project.

Every day has been filled with learning, laughter, and making special memories together. We cannot wait to see what next week brings!

Thank You Teacher Garden Party.

A huge thank you to all our families and friends who joined us this afternoon for our Garden Party as we celebrated Thank You Teacher Day.

We had a wonderful time together making decorations for our Thank You Tree, creating beautiful butterflies, mixing magical potions, and sowing seeds to take home and grow.

It was also lovely to meet our special guest, Keziah Hayes-Roper, who presented us with an award recognising us as a Silver Winner Finalist for "Early Years Team of the Year" in the Pearson National Teaching Awards. We are incredibly proud of this achievement and grateful for the recognition of our team's dedication and hard work.

A special cake was made to mark the occasion, and it truly was a wonderful afternoon filled with celebration, creativity, and community spirit.

Thank you to everyone who attended and helped make the event so memorable.
