Level 3 Nursery Practitioner – CCLD or Equivalent
📍 Once Upon a Time Nursery – Beddau, Pontypridd
⏰ 24 hours per week | Normally over 3 days
📅 Fixed-term until July 2027
We’re looking for a kind, enthusiastic and dependable Nursery Practitioner to join our friendly team at Once Upon a Time Nursery.

🌈 The Role
This is a 24-hour-per-week position, normally worked over 3 days between Monday and Friday.
Our nursery is open from 7:30am until 6:00pm, and working hours will be arranged on a rota within these times.
The position is initially fixed-term until July 2027. However, if our childcare numbers remain high, there may be an opportunity for a permanent contract to become available.
💛 What You’ll Be Doing
No two days in nursery are quite the same! You’ll be part of a supportive team providing a happy, safe and stimulating environment where every child is encouraged to learn, develop and thrive.
Your role will include:
- Providing warm, nurturing and high-quality care for our children
- Planning and taking part in fun, engaging and age-appropriate activities
- Supporting children’s learning, development and emotional wellbeing
- Observing children’s progress and supporting their individual needs
- Building positive and professional relationships with children and their families
- Working closely with colleagues as part of our nursery team
- Helping to maintain a clean, safe, welcoming and inclusive environment
- Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of every child in our care
- Remaining alert to safeguarding and child protection concerns and reporting these promptly in accordance with nursery procedures
- Following all nursery policies and procedures, including safeguarding, confidentiality and health and safety
🌟 We’d Love to Hear From You If You:
- Hold a Level 3 CCLD qualification or recognised equivalent
- Have a genuine passion for working with young children
- Are warm, patient, caring and enthusiastic
- Have a good understanding of safeguarding and child protection
- Are reliable, professional and enjoy being part of a team
- Can work flexibly across our nursery opening hours on the agreed rota
- Share our commitment to giving children a safe, happy and positive start
🛡️ Safer Recruitment
Safeguarding children is at the heart of everything we do. The successful applicant will be required to:
- Complete an Enhanced DBS check
- Provide satisfactory references
- Provide proof of their right to work in the UK
- Provide evidence of relevant qualifications
- Successfully complete all other appropriate pre-employment and safeguarding checks
💷 Salary
National Minimum Wage/National Living Wage requirements will be met, as applicable.
