What a weekend these 2 had at the Yushi competition and training camp.

A huge thank you to Doraibā Judo and Judo Swansea for supporting our Judoka, and making such a wonderful community.
And thanks to the whole support team that makes these trips possible ❤

No medals for EGH, but they've learned so much, and had a lot of laughs on the way!

EGH are really excited to bring a new Sensei to the dojo.

Grant has only been with us for a few weeks, and is already proving to be a huge asset.

Let's learn a bit about him and extend a warm welcome.....

My name is Grant Seldon, and judo has been part of my life since I was 13, when I first stepped onto the mat in Aberdare. My training later moved to Maesteg, where I really developed as a competitor. Over the years I've had the honour of representing Wales at both junior and senior level, and competing across Europe against some brilliant opposition.

I earned my 2nd Dan black belt at just 17 — something I'm genuinely proud of. But beyond the medals and gradings, what judo has really given me is opportunity: to travel, to compete, and now, to give back.

These days, one of my favourite parts of the sport is helping the next generation of judoka find the same passion for it that I did.

My knees might not thank me after every session, but judo has given me far more than it's taken.

A rollercoaster today for EGH!

A fantastic effort by every single judoka.
Some had small weight categories, so had to combine - whilst others had a high number of players.

🏅For Lili, Lincoln and Simon
🥈For Luca and Caitlin
🥉For Ethan, Gwen and Dan

Josh fought really well in stiff competition, and was unlucky to miss out on Bronze.

Back to training Monday, ready to go again

An exhilarating day at the British Teams for everyone.

The Cadet boys went up against some really tough opposition, losing 2 and winning 1.

I'm sure everyone went away with things to work on, but more importantly, a real feeling of team work and pride 💪

We had a tough draw pulling Scotland and London, however I’m happy all of us won our last fights against North West.

Same time next year 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿🥋
