Lorena's Childminding

Lorena's Childminding I aim to provide a home-away-from-home experience for your child by working in partnership with you. I am a Childminder based in Church Village (CF38).

I am registered with Care Inspectorate Wales to care for boys and girls from birth to 12, but can also care for children over 12 outside of school hours. I care for up to 3 children under full time school age, no more than 6 under 8 years of age and no more than 10 children in total. All of these numbers include my son. I run my childminding business from my home, where I live with my husband, son

and grandmother, as well as a cat and a dog. My service is open to all families and children in the community, and I may be able to care for children with additional needs. I work in partnership with parents to meet the needs of their child. I look after my son at the same time as other children, and like any parent I want the best for him, as well as for the children I care for. I am interested in maximising their opportunities for development and growth through:

-Educational activities based on the child’s age and development needs.
-Plenty of time for child-led play.
-Opportunities to be exposed to both Spanish and Welsh from a very young age, in a way that is natural and fun.
-Provide nutritious food, mostly cooked at home & tailored to the child if necessary.
-Opportunities to socialise with other children from the local area through play groups and other community activities. The operating hours of my service are flexible within the hours of 07:00 and 19:00. A typical day however is likely to be 07:45-17:30. I can provide a service on weekends and evenings on an ad hoc basis. Types of childcare available:

-Wrap around
-Full time day care
-School drop off and pick up from the following schools, subject to no clashes between children’s routines.
-Garth Olwg
-Lanilltud Faerdref Primary School
-Gwauncelyn Primary School
-Maesybryn Country Primary School
-Ysgol Ty Coch School
-Taking to clubs / activities, subject to no clashes with other children’s routines. Individual activities and arrangements will be discussed and agreed with parents. I am happy to be accommodating of a particular child’s routine as long as it does not interfere with that of other children in my care. Meal Service

I offer a meal service based on a weekly menu. Parents can opt into this for their children. This service has a cost associated with it, which can be seen in my list of prices. Parents can influence the weekly menu if they know of something their child particularly enjoys, providing that it is suitable for all the children in the care setting. Alternatively, parents can provide the child’s packed lunch, which I am happy to administer.

As a mum, crafting time feels like a luxury I can't afford in my day to day life. So I decided to set up this group to give like minded mums a chance to craft. The act of creating with our own hands is so nourishing, and we don't get to do it enough.
Let's chat, get to know each other, drink some tea and create something. All the while knowing our little ones are welcome in any and every way that they want to show up.

- No experience Necessary
- All materials included
- Come any time (there is always a craft to do, drop ins welcome)
- Women & children of all ages and stages of life welcome.
