A massive congratulations to ex-pupil Meghan who came 6th in the final of the Women’s 100m Backstroke S9 Final at the Commonwealth Games this evening!

At only 18 years of age, this is Meghan’s 2nd appearance at a commonwealth games, after also competing at the Birmingham Games in 2022. We look forward to seeing her compete again later this weekend when she swims in the S9 100m freestyle on Wednesday.

Such an inspiration to all our pupils!

Bye, bye Mr. Knight 👋

Today we say a final farewell to Mr. Knight, who sets off from West Mon on a new adventure as he takes up a PE teacher post at in Penarth. Over the years, Mr. Knight has become a big part of the PE department, bringing enthusiasm, positivity and a great sense of humour to everything he does.

Perhaps the greatest measure of the impact he has had is the number of messages and goodbye cards he’s received from pupils. Those messages speak volumes about the relationships he built and the difference he made. It’s clear that he has left a lasting impression on so many young people, and that’s something every teacher should be proud of.

We wish Mr. Knight a very fond farewell and are positive that he will be every bit a success in his new post. You leave big shoes to fill and we wish you all the very best.

Fantastic Session with Griffithstown Primary School today with their year 4 and year 5 pupils.

Mr Vivian visited the school to take the pupils through a rugby masterclass.

The effort from all of the pupils was fantastic, we can’t wait to come back soon for another session.

📣 Sports Day Reminder – Year 7 & Year 8 🏅
 
A reminder that all pupils in Year 7 and Year 8 may wear their PE kit to school on Thursday 2nd July for our Sports Day.

We encourage pupils to get involved by making supportive signs and banners and celebrating sporting achievements throughout the day. Let’s create a fantastic atmosphere and cheer on our competitors as they take part in the events!
 
Please note that parents and visitors will not be able to attend Sports Day.

In regards to our KS3 Dance showcase, we have made the decision to postpone this event until September. This is due to the extreme heat and trying to accommodate a date all the girls can participate in. After speaking to the pupils involved, and all the hard work they have put in, we don’t want anyone to miss out! All tickets already purchased are valid for our September show date, which we will share in due course 💃 thank you for your understanding!
