We are Nature led , plenty of fresh air , forest walks , farm visits , vegetable planting in the garden , growing little explorers, one muddy step at a time. Just a short walk from the enchanting American Gardens, Pontypool Park, and peaceful ponds, we embrace the beauty of the outdoors as

Our tomatoes are growing lovely, and we’ve finally got our first ripe one! ❤️ The children are loving watching them grow and waiting for the rest to turn red…
Well… most of us are waiting! 🤣 One little gardener got a tiny bit overexcited and decided it was harvest time ,resulting in a whole pile of very green tomatoes picked !
Patience is clearly still a work in progress!

Yesterday we enjoyed a walk to our local forest, foraging for leaves of all different colours, shapes and sizes. 🍂
The children then chose their favourites and made their very own leaf crowns.
They were so proud wearing their creations! 🥰
Simple, natural play and lots of happy memories made in the woods!

We had such a wonderful time on a dragonfly hunt this week 🔍 We spotted lots of dragonflies zipping around, but they were far too quick for us to catch on camera!
​Luckily, we were still able to get a lovely close-up of a beautiful blue damselfly instead. Dragonflies and damselflies are actually "cousins" they both belong to the same insect order called Odonata.
​Did you know? Dragonflies and damselflies are master flyers! They have compound eyes that can have up to 30,000 lenses, giving them incredible vision to help them spot and catch their prey in mid-air. 🦟

A little project I've been working on today. 😊

The children love drawing with chalk, so I've made them their own little outdoor chalkboard area using a log table, four log seats, some blackboard paint and, of course, lots of chalk! I really hope they enjoy it!

☀️ We've had so much fun this week at Muddy Wellies Boutique Childminding!
As part of our Sun & Seaside theme, the children explored a variety of sand play stations, including a seaside tuff tray, a construction sand tray with diggers and dumper trucks, and a wet and dry sensory sand tray. Today we even found a sandpit during our visit to the community farm , the perfect end to a fantastic week! 🏖️💛

What a lovely week we've had at Muddy Wellies! 💚
From finding hidden treasures in the forest and splashing in the garden, to watering our plants and harvesting our potatoes, we've made the most of every chance to be outdoors.
It's been wonderful watching the children explore, discover and enjoy the simple magic that nature brings.
