Afternoon 😊

We seem to be left with lots of milk here at Park Street that we don't want going to waste.

We have popped it all in a box outside the front door so if you or anyone you know is in need of some milk, feel free to come down and take some ☺️

Hope you all have a lovely Christmas 🎄

Many contemporary models — from Polyvagal Theory to Lisa Feldman Barrett’s Constructed Emotion and modern CBT emotion regulation frameworks — recognise that anxiety isn’t just a feeling. It’s a regulatory process — the body and brain working hard to find safety.

When we understand anxiety through this lens, our focus shifts from “fixing the worry” to supporting regulation — helping the child’s nervous system return to balance.

Which is why our toolkit, WHEN WORRIES TAKE OVER includes information, resources and activities rooted in building emotional regulation.

FOLLOW for more content on Polyvagal Theory this coming week.

So often misunderstood as 'clumsiness' or 'laziness', dyspraxia is actually a neurological difference that affects how the brain plans and coordinates movement.

For a child, that can mean everyday tasks — writing, getting dressed, catching a ball — take far more mental energy than we realise.

When we understand the why, we can respond with patience, not pressure.

Same child, two photos. One looks ready for bed — the other looks ready to direct aircraft at Heathrow!

As the nights draw in, make sure you can be seen when you’re out and about. Walkers, cyclists, drivers — we’re looking at you (if we can see you…).

Hi-vis vests, light-up collars, bike lights, car checks — get ‘em sorted.
Because the only lights we want flashing tonight are on our ambulances, not because we’re coming to find you in the dark!

Stay bright, stay safe 🌟

In our Baby group, Circles of Security group and our Family links Nurturing group at Penygarn Integrated Children’s Centre this week we have focused on the importance of self-care and your own well-being

Here are some of the things we did with parents and their little ones.

*Relaxation moments
*Hand massages
*Mindfulness poems
*We talked about strategies in how to manage difficult feelings and stresses
*We played the family links emotional well-being nurture game thinking of ideas how we could have some time to nurture ourselves ‘spice up our lives’ spiritually, physically, intellectually, creatively and emotionally
*We also had a hot cup of tea and a chat while the little ones were having fun with our creche team
