Preschool were in the back garden today and had a surprise visit from the cows, including a delightful little baby calf!

Halloween this year is on the weekend but, rest assured, the children at Little Chums won’t be missing out! 🎃

We will be doing our customary arts and crafts throughout the week leading up to Halloween and having a Halloween-themed party in place of our usual lunch on Thursday 29th October.

Children are welcome to dress up in a Halloween costume and there will be a prize in each room for the best!

In November we are raising money for 'Children in Need', so if your child is wearing fancy dress for the Halloween party, please donate at least £1 using our 'JustGiving' page. There are posters (see below) around Little Chums with a QR code to our donation page, or use the direct link below.

We are delighted to remind you that this Friday 4 September, Holly Bailey is getting married!

All members of staff have been invited to Holly’s evening celebration. Therefore, we would be very grateful if, on this day, you could collect your children a little earlier to allow staff plenty of time to get ready and travel to the venue.

We will remain open as normal and there is absolutely no obligation to collect early. However, if you are able to do so, we would be very appreciative of your support!

Our Preschool children celebrated the end of summer in style with a very special End of Summer Party and Wild Hair Day!

The children arrived at Little Chums sporting some fantastic hairstyles, with plenty of colour, crazy creations and wonderfully wild hair on display. The staff couldn't let the children have all the fun either and joined in with some wild hairstyles of their own!

There was plenty more fun throughout the day, with party food to enjoy followed by lots of music and dancing. The children showed off their best moves on the dance floor and enjoyed playing some traditional party games together.

The day was an extra special one for some of our older children as it was also their very last day at Little Chums before moving on to their next adventure. After all the time they have spent with us, it was lovely to be able to finish their final day surrounded by their friends, having lots of fun together.

It was a wonderful way to bring our summer to a close, filled with laughter, dancing, some truly wild hair and lots of happy memories!

We wish all of our leavers the very best as they take their next big step. We will miss you!

Our Toddlers enjoyed a very special PJ & Pizza Day, coming to nursery dressed in their favourite pyjamas for a day filled with pizza-themed fun!

The children got creative making their own arts and crafts pizzas before heading to our Pizza Making Station to have a go at making the real thing. Using muffin bases, the children added tomato and then chose their own toppings from a selection of sweetcorn, pepperoni, ham and cheese. There were lots of important decisions to make as everyone created their own perfect pizza!

Once the pizzas were ready, they were baked in the oven before the children took them outside to enjoy for their afternoon tea at the picnic benches. Judging by the smiles, they tasted just as good as they looked!

The children also settled down in their PJs to watch an episode of Peppa Pig in which Peppa and her family make their own pizzas.

A lovely day of creating, cooking and eating, all while wearing our pyjamas. What could be better?

Our Preschool children enjoyed their very own take on the popular ‘Paint ’n’ Sip’ trend with a special Milkshakes and Masterpieces event!

The children began by visiting the sunflower field next door at Ty Poeth farm, where they chose and picked some beautiful sunflowers to bring back to preschool.

With the flowers arranged on the tables for inspiration, our budding artists then created their own sunflower masterpieces on canvas, while enjoying a delicious milkshake as they painted.

A lovely morning of creativity, colour and, of course, milkshakes!

It's that time of year when children being moving groups or leaving us for school. As usual, so many parents have been so generous with special 'thank you' gifts and cards.

We would like to say a really big thank you back for your generosity and kindness, particularly with the thoughtful words so many of you have written inside cards.

To every child, parent and family that is leaving, we wish you the very best for the future and can only hope we have played a small, but positive and significant part in your lives.

We don't have space to share every single message, so have randomly picked two that have almost made us cry! Read them below...

“After over 7 years of being part of the Little Chums family, it feels so strange to be writing this as [name redacted] has finally come to the end of his time with you. It really does feel like the end of a huge chapter in our family's lives. Little Chums has been such a massive part of our everyday lives. It has been a place we have relied on, trusted and loved for such a long time. I will genuinely miss seeing all of your lovely, cheery faces every morning. Every member of staff has been fantastic and has played such an important part in our children's lives. You have made nursery a place they have been excited to come to, filled with fun, laughter, friendships and so many happy memories. You have watched them grow from little babies into confident little people and we couldn't have wished for a better start for them. We know when [name redacted] walks through the school gates, he is ready for that next chapter because of the wonderful foundations you have given him. And of course, we can't forget [name redacted] arriving each morning in his superhero or King cape, ready to take on the world! Thank you for always encouraging his imagination and letting him be completely himself. It's impossible to put into words how grateful we are for everything you have done for all 3 of our children, and for us as parents. Little Chums will always have a special place in our hearts. With love and the biggest THANK YOU!”
