After a great effort yesterday, Tots have now moved into their new room, although there are a few display boards to finish off!

The old Tots room has now become the new sleep room, with the old sleep room now becoming a physical play room for babies that we are calling the 'Baby Gym'. To top off the madness, the sensory room has also had a slight revamp!

Thanks again to MJS Painting and Decorating and Rhians Carpets Pontypool for giving us a blank canvas to work on!

We've finished the refurbishment of the room that will become Tots! Thanks to MJS Painting and Decorating and Rhians Carpets Pontypool for such great work! Now to move all the furniture, equipment and toys. And not forgetting the children when it's done!

Yesterday, Preschool visited the sunflower field next door at our friends at Ty Poeth Farm!

Although not quite as tall as last year because of the lack of rain, it's still quite easy to get lost amongst all those sunflowers and is still a great experience!

Preschool have been making good use of the field and the new footballs, posts and cones!

They've been getting outside into the fresh air, getting some exercise and practising their footballing skills... all coached by 'Feltz', who apparently thinks she is ex-professional?!

Although it's still warm, the 'silly' heat has faded slightly so we now think it's safer to take the children outside more and further from Little Chums.

Therefore Tots, Toddlers and Preschool have gone for nice long strolls along the canal down to the basin to explore, run around and enjoy their snacks!

We've had some lovely comments from members of the public about how lovely it is to see the children out in the fresh air and how well behaved all the children have been!

We've also taken a sneak peak of the farmers sunflowers which we will hopefully visit soon!

While the adults have been really busy over the last few weeks getting the new Toddler building ready, the children have been equally busy getting on with their job of having fun outside!

Whether it's playing in the garden, in water, walking up the driveway, playing football, having a teddy bear picnic or exploring the wild flower patch, every single group has been outside regularly when safe to do so and after copious amounts of sun cream!

Now the builders have completely finished the corn barn conversion, we have been able to reclaim and begin to improve some spaces previously used by the children.

Our outdoor reading corner is now back up and running and the Preschool bike 'track' has been restored!

We have also begun to further develop the field to the rear and have installed some new football and rugby posts and basketball hoop! The remainder of the field will soon be cut for even more space for outdoor games, play and picnics.

During the summer, we're hoping that Holly Bailey's sister, who is captain of the Welsh Woman's U18 rugby team, will be able to run some rugby sessions with the Toddler and Preschool groups.

After months of building work, the corn barn renovation is finally finished and although we're waiting for a couple of bits of furniture and a final nod from our inspector, Toddlers should be moving in soon! In the meantime, we'd thought you'd like a sneak peek so we've taken before and after photos for you. Parents of children who will be using this room will be invited to view soon.
