Cwtch Corner Childcare Our playgroup aims to provide a professional childcare service to those facing the everyday demands of modern family life.

Cwtch Corner Childcare provides supervision for up to 26 children per day, aged between 2 - 5 years old. We are open from 9am-1pm (Monday to Friday) and operate over 47 weeks a year, including during the school holidays. Prices quoted are Β£12 per child, for a core day (9am-1pm) and includes a snack. Parents/Carers are expected to provide nappies, a spar

e change of clothes and a packed lunch. At Cwtch Corner Childcare, we offer a warm, welcoming and safe setting where children are encouraged to experience and explore life together. The children are guided to become happy, active learners and gain independence through the promotion of self-help skills. Our qualified, nurturing staff members offer help and support to enable the children to reach their true potential. We are committed to presenting children with a varied range of daily opportunities where they are invited to learn through both focused-based and free-play activities. The activities are child-led, fun and enjoyable experiences where children are able to gain a sense of achievement and grow with confidence. Careful, individual planning is formulated for each child by their appointed key worker and follows the appropriate curriculum guidelines regarding the Birth to Three Matters framework and the Foundation Phase. All children have an individual progress report to monitor their development. Our job is to be attentive to all individual needs; by providing a consistent approach to all aspects of child development and providing the elements of education needed to help shape children’s future.

Our last day at Cwtch Corner was very emotional and I managed to hold it together until I opened this....

Two extremely kind and thoughtful parents gave us this beautiful wooden keep-sake box, which included a variety of photographs that captured the personal journey of our playgroup.

Our special keep-sake box has now been filled with other memorabilia to look back upon in years to come.

There are no words to describe how lucky we felt to have found such thoughtful and attentive staff members, each with a natural passion for childcare. Everyday, these lovely ladies worked extremely hard to ensure that the children's first experiences of within a preschool setting were exciting, educational and most importantly, FUN! From 'moon-walks' to social sketches, the efforts made by the staff helped to make these daily activities unforgettable!

We would like to take this opportunity to thank them for their enthusiastic and professional approach to their role and for helping to make a difference in so many young children's lives. It has been a complete pleasure working alongside every one of you and making some truly fantastic memories! We would also like to acknowledge our previous Deputy Manager in this post for her positivity and support throughout her time with us 😘

It is with a heavy heart that we write to inform you of the forthcoming closure of Cwtch Corner Childcare.

We have continued to experience a decline in our occupancy levels since September 2016 and have struggled to both maintain and exceed the amount of children attending playgroup. Since Christmas, there has been some interest shown and we have received several new registrations. However, the start dates of these children are staggered from the end of March up until September - leaving us fighting to break even on our expenditures every week.

This April, we will also be seeing an increase in the National Living Wage by 30p per hour - although this may not sound much, it results in a substantial increase on staff wages and will therefore have a significant impact on the Company. Unfortunately, this means that we will just be one of thousands of small businesses that will struggle to meet the new demands set forth by the government.

Consequently, a combination of these factors has led us into financial difficulty and forced our hand to close the Company from the end of March 2017. Over the duration of the next five weeks, all child scrapbooks/progress reports will be completed and given to parents/carers by our last week of operation - week commencing 27th March 2017.

Over the past two and a half years, we have met some wonderful parents/carers, staff members and children. It has been a complete pleasure to engage with so many lovely families in the area and to build such positive and lasting relationships with them. We would also like to acknowledge the valuable efforts and dedication of our exceptional staff members, whose commitment to excellence has been an inspiration to others.

I know that I speak for us all at Cwtch Corner, when I say that our experience here has been an incredible journey and that we have loved every minute! We would like to take this opportunity to thank you all from the bottom of our hearts for the support, gratitude and admiration that you have shown us. We wish everyone the best of luck and success for the future.
