Oliver Bain - Maths Tutor I'm a private tutor based in Pontyates, Carmarthenshire, but now operating exclusively online! I can also teach Beginner Spanish.

I am a private tutor in Mathematics for all ages and levels, and English up to and including Key Stage 3. A DBS Enhanced Disclosure is available, and I am on the update service. I have a PhD in Mathematics from the University of Nottingham, a BSc in Mathematics from Aberystwyth University, and a hefty dose of undergraduate Spanish. I am currently studying for a BA in Language Studies (English and Spanish) with the Open University.) Normally I travel to my students, but the opposite arrangement is equally welcome.

The tutoring sector is so so quiet this September. It's spooky...

When not torturing -- I mean teaching -- this tutor does other things. Today, a trip to Dinefwr Castle! They have a pop-up bookshop near the car park...

September rolls around once again, and it's time shriek from the rooftops: More students, more students! My kingdom, and a slightly odd looking donkey, for more students!

(List only half full, if you didn't get the hint.)

It's a quiet time in tutoring terms, quite naturally, but if anyone wants to do some prep for next school year, I can definitely help. Or go mad and become a scintillating hat flinger. Summers are like that.

Themes for today were...
1) Inverting 3x3 matrices (icky!).
2) Compounded 'fractions of' and multipliers!
It's all a normal day at the office...

Official Nonsense (sometimes known as FAQs):
Teaching is conducted over Wire and an online whiteboard, which is free for you to use, and does not require registration. A good internet connection and decent equipment is essential. Payment is by bank transfer, details of which will be supplied after the first hour. Cancellations are free up until the day before, although good reasons and reschedulings are often acceptable instead of paying the cancellation session fee on the day.
