Spoilt rotten by a lovely family that left today , tears as I open such thoughtful gifts , again as we said goodbye and a few more tears reading such kind words in lovely cards ( not just her parents but grandparents too) followed by more tears at such a lovely text from her parents, you would think after 23 years of childminding I wouldn’t get so attached , but the thing is , this is not just a “job”
each and every child that comes here become a huge part of my life , every individual personality, every cuddle is special, every song that comes on our playlist holds a memory of a child, every storybook reminds me of one of you, every photo of a favourite activity holds a memory too.
For each and every child there is a special little piece of my heart holding the memories of our time together.

6 dolls,6 prams & buggies, bottles, car seats, blankets, clothes, bags,baths, ducks,sponges, soaps, towels, toothbrushes, dressing up too & 6 very caring well behaved mummy’s carefully nurturing their babies all day long at Hemsworth Water Park ( we were definitely over ratio today Allison duxbury 😂😂😂)

Creating a sun & water safe garden , complete with life guard duty chair for me 🤣at 7am on a morning , need a cuppa now…
Quick break and set up dino wash station, sand , painting , cars & reading areas …. Busy children today again 😍

Another fun filled day hiding from the sunshine under the trees , the children enjoyed rearranging the stepping blocks & stacking them up, and today they all took their babies in their buggy with a blanket , bag and dolly picnic food along to experience a fun day with Karen’s childcare & Allison’s too , the children looked after their babies so well , before we even got to the trees they were showing the babies the crunchy leaves and the lovely yellow dandelions that were growing near the cafe , later the youngest member negotiated pushing her babies buggy across the very long row of stepping blocks & her balancing was just amazing ! Another child taught her baby to walk along the blocks ,
Another little one patiently taught her baby how to colour too!
You have no idea just how much stuff we take out with us each time to enhance learning , a whole trolley full of story books, colouring books , pens, crayons, water play, paints , paper, brushes, scissors, not to mention hygiene items ( today we even made our own hand washing station out of one of the stepping turtles !) , water, soap,towel , spare clothes, hats, sun cream, wipes , first aid kits , phones, power bank, etc , lunch bags, drinks , fruit & bowls, knife to cut it up, julienne for carrots & apples , plate to cut it on , flasks full of ice to make their drinks cool , and today even the items needed to make iced coffee for Allison & myself !!!
Oh what fun 🤣

Oh my word what a fun packed 2 week we have shared already this summer!
Woodland walks & tree climbing, watching penguins feeding, swan spotting, treats in cafes, picnics in the park, assault courses, stories, singing, water play, tower building, colouring, even playdough in the great outdoors! building relationships & sharing birthdays, extending language and counting practise , all the children learning sooo much along the way!
Nothing beats the great outdoors, dusty & quite tiring walks building those little muscles but only mine seem to ache 🤣🤣🤣

Today we enjoyed painting pebbles for The card & gift gallery in ackworth , they are asking children to decorate a pebble and take it in to the shop as they have a fireplace they would like to decorate with them .
It’s a lovely idea , the children really enjoyed making them ,& I thought I would surprise the card gallery by making one myself 🥰🤣

One of our parents thought we might like these HUGE leaves to do something with….
They were very well used !
First we looked at the size( bigger than my hand & the smallest persons face!) shape-vein patterns- smell-texture …
Then I set up the cable reel with different things to use & the children spent some time decorating them with paint pens & discovered they could use little paintbrushes to thin the pain sticks down and move the paint around. They used water sprayers and droppers and watched the droplets roll down the leaves. 😍

A lovely trip to Spring green nurseries last week where we looked at all the beautiful plants together & talking about what they need to grow , we gently looked at the patterns on the petals & smelled the beautiful geraniums then the children enjoyed choosing the ones they liked best, once home they were carefully planted in to bigger pots so that they could grow bigger then put them outside their very own Willow cottage and watered them 💕🌸🌺
