The Institute Of Irish Leadership Pomeroy

We have bases in Dublin and Wicklow also. We provide bus tours of the sperrin region and promote the local area and its natural undiscovered beauty.

The Institute of Irish leadership in Pomeroy, Co.Tyrone offers courses in Irish language from beginners to advanced as well as Essential skills and ICT classes. We also provide a craft shop selling locally sourced and unique Irish made gifts, books, cd's and dvds. We have coffee shop facilities, conference rooms available for hire, and disabled access. Gabhann muid ár gcomhbhrón ónár gcroíthe le teaghlach agus muintir Mhalachaí Mac Con Midhe, a fuair bás ar na mallaibh. Múinteoir ab ea Malachaí i Scoil na mBráithre Críostaí, An Ómaigh, Co. Thír Eoghain agus bhí spéis ar leith aige sa Ghaeilge agus chuir sé an teanga chun cinn le linn a shaol. I ndiaidh dó éirigh as an mhúinteoireacht, lean sé ag cur na teanga chun cinn sa phobal. Theagasc sé Ardranganna ag Institiúid Cheannasaíocht na hÉireann, Cabhán an Chaorthainn ar feadh 12 bliana mar chuid de 'Féile Ghaeltacht Thír Eoghain'. Tá muid go mór faoi chomaoin aige as a dhíograis agus a dhúthracht, agus is olc lena chairde Gael a bhí ina chuid ranganna gach bliain a bhás. Fear uasal go smíor a bhí ann, chuir Malachaí go mór le saolta a chuid scoláirí agus spreag sé grá don Ghaeilge iontu a bhfuil leo go fóill. Cleachtóir teanga tiomanta a bhí ann. Ba mhór an phribhléid don phobal é gur spreag sé suim sa Ghaeilge iontu.
Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam.

Our sincere condolences to the family and wider family circle of Malachy McNamee, who passed away recently. Malachy was a former teacher in Christian Brothers School, Omagh, Co. Tyrone, and a true enthusiast and promoter of the Irish language. After retiring from his school career, he continued to champion the language within the community. He taught Advanced Level classes at the Institute of Irish Leadership in Pomeroy for 12 years as part of 'Féile Ghaeltacht Thír Eoghain'. We are greatly indebted to him for his dedication and commitment, and he is sadly missed by all who joined his classes annually. A true gentleman, Malachy greatly enriched the lives of his students and sparked in them a passion for the Irish language that they still remember today. He was a dedicated practitioner of the language. People in the community have been privileged to be influenced by his love of the language. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam.
