Preschool Manager
At Pollington Preschool, we are dedicated to providing a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment where young children can learn, grow, and thrive. We believe in fostering curiosity, creativity, and confidence through play-based learning and strong partnerships with families.
We are seeking an experienced, passionate, and highly organised Preschool Manager to lead our early years setting. The successful candidate will be responsible for the overall management of the preschool, ensuring high-quality care and education, regulatory compliance, and effective leadership of staff.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership & Management
-Lead, motivate, and support a team of early years practitioners
-Oversee staff recruitment, training, supervision, and performance management
-Promote a positive, inclusive, and collaborative working culture, using supportive management techniques to consolidate leadership.
Quality & Curriculum
-Ensure delivery of a high-quality early years curriculum in line with statutory Ofsted requirements and the Early Years Foundation Stage framework
-Monitor in the moment planning, assessment, and child development progress across the setting
-Drive a culture of continuous improvement across the setting.
Safeguarding & Compliance
-Act as the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) or Deputy Safeguarding Lead
-Ensure full compliance with safeguarding, health & safety, and regulatory requirements
-Maintain accurate records, policies, and procedures
-Prepare comprehensive reports for the chair of committee and trustees to support decision-making processes.
Parent & Community Engagement
-Build strong relationships with parents and carers
-Manage enrolment, admissions, and occupancy levels
-Represent the preschool within the local community
-Organize events and workshops to engage stakeholders and promote community involvement.
-Communicate effectively with parents to keep them informed about growth initiatives and their impact upon children's development.
Operational & Financial Management
-Oversee budgets, funding claims, and financial sustainability
-Manage resources effectively to ensure smooth daily operations
-Work and operate within Charity Law and Commissioning expectations
-Liase with Ofsted as the nominated person and registered Manager of the Preschool.
Requirements:
-Minimum Degree/Level 6 based qualified or above. with EYT, EYPS or QTS qualified desirable.
-Proven 2 years experience within an early years setting. Additionally, a minimum of 3 years of management experience in a relevant field at a Room Lead level or above.
-Minimum Level 3 Safeguarding Qualification
Strong knowledge of safeguarding and early years regulations
-Strong Knowledge of Special Educational Needs and creating a supportive and inclusive environment.
-Excellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills
-A passion for delivering outstanding childcare and education
