Last week, the children enjoyed a creative and hands-on understanding of the world activity where they worked together to make a volcano using plaster mix!🌋
Children carefully mixed materials, discussing the changes they observed as the plaster combined and hardened. Once the volcano was dry, the children used paints to decorate it, expressing their preferences, creativity and developing their fine motor skills⭐
To complete the experiment, the children helped prepare the ingredients which made the volcano bubble and erupt!💥
We spoke about safety around this activity, discussing how lava is hot and we shouldn't touch hot things because this may hurt us.
Children showed great excitement and curiosity throughout the activity, exploring early scientific concepts such as mixing, changes, and cause and effect of actions.
This activity supported communication and language, teamwork, problem-solving, and an interest in the world around them. Well done everyone! ⭐
