It’s crazy to think that all of these moments were captured this time last year. Every day brought something new.. building, tweaking, installing, unboxing, photographing, cleaning, organising… each step bringing us closer to that feeling, and now… somehow, we’re already one year into this incredible journey of Little Pips 💚

Bike club 🚴‍♂️💨 Ongoing physical development is such an important part of what we do, and we’re so proud to have invested in this fantastic area of learning with the launch of our very own Bike Club!!

Today was our official launch, and we couldn’t wait to give the wheels a spin. Oaks got creative, using some old planks from our loose parts to build their very own mini pump track! Watching their confidence, coordination, problem-solving and teamwork develop through play has been amazing 🚲✨

Since rescuing two hedgehogs on our nursery grounds back in April, our Oaks children have developed such a passion for learning about hedgehogs and how we can all help protect them.
Today we were incredibly lucky to welcome Angie from Angie’s Hoggery, alongside Lyn and Carol, for a truly wonderful afternoon. The children had the opportunity to safely observe two beautiful hedgehogs, ask lots of fantastic questions during a lively Q&A, take part in a hedgehog rescue role-play and enjoy a fun game of hedgehog hide-and-seek. It was such an engaging, hands-on experience that brought their learning to life and created memories they’ll be talking about for a long time 🦔❤️

A huge heartfelt thank you to Angie, Lyn and Carol for sharing your knowledge, enthusiasm and love for these amazing little creatures. Your visit meant so much to us all, and we can’t wait to welcome you back on 22nd August! 🦔✨

Through their lens… 🌿🔍

Oaks were invited to take a closer look at the natural materials around them using a range of technology, from digital cameras to microscopes 🔬🌸

It was inspiring to watch their investigations unfold as they carefully selected different materials, positioned them thoughtfully, adjusted the zoom and focus, and then gasped with excitement at what appeared on the screen such as intricate patterns, textures and details that had previously gone unnoticed!

There are many ways to learn about flowers and their features. You could look at a picture in a book and be told what to notice… or you could hold a real flower in your hands, zoom right in, make your own discoveries, share your theories with friends and experience that genuine sense of wonder for yourself!

Your eyes aren’t deceiving you… those are fishtail braids! 🤩 And yes, they were all created from scratch in just a two-hour session while raising money for charity 🪮💇🏽‍♀️

A huge thank you to the wonderful Carina for being so incredibly generous and helping make this event happen, and to the amazing Paul at Pock Catering for the delicious pies and well-stocked bar 🥧🍻

Most importantly, thank you to all the dads who came along, gave it a go, asked questions, stepped out of their comfort zones, and embraced the challenge 👏

We absolutely loved tonight, and the best part? Together we’ve raised nearly £200 for a fantastic charity! ❤️

🐰💚 We didn’t think our Pips Room could get any cuter… but then a wonderful parent brought in her two lop-eared bunnies, Whitney and Pebby!

Our sensory session before morning nap got a whole lot hoppier as the bunnies settled straight in, explored every nook and cranny, and tucked into crunchy kale and carrots 🥕 🐰
