JANUARY...

What a great start to the year.
The children have all settled back so well and its been amazing to see how much they have grown over Christmas!

Unfortunately the weather has been a bit rubbish so outside trips have been limited but we have still managed a few park trips and the gruffalo trail at saltram.

We have built up our physical skills at soft play, tried out some new playgroups meeting new friends, garden play and some winter themed activities.

We have been to the sensory room at the hydro hub, used our imaginations at itown and watched the fish at the aquarium.

We had a few weeks of space theme as the children have shown an interest in the song zoom zoom zoom we're going to the moon.

We have played in our rocket tent, used our imaginations and done lots of role play flying to the moon using our space helmet masks.
We have done some space crafts- colouring rockets and astronauts, recognising shapes to make a rocket picture, star biscuits helping to pour, measure and roll, space themed songs and lots of space books and stories.
The children have enjoyed using new words like astronaut and planet.

The children have also loved our new torches watching where they can shine the light and looking at shadows as well as cause and effect working out how to turn the torches on and off!

DECEMBER....

We enjoyed lots of sensory Christmas play tinsel, baubles, arctic themed trays, Christmas pudding cereal play, fed oats to the reindeers and made some reindeer food, snow play, melted snowman gloop, pasta play and foam snow balls.

We went on the trago Christmas train and saw santa, looked at Christmas lights, Christmas themed pop up play sessions and itown.

We also went to the hydro hub sensory room with our childminder friend which we hadn't been to for a while, the children loved exploring all the sensory toys and looking at the lights.

In our last week we did lots of Christmas crafts and had some Christmas parties with our friends full of Christmas activities and baking, Christmas music and dancing and lots of party food 🌲✨️

NOVEMBER....

We have enjoyed role play at pop up play, building our physical skills at the park and soft play and went to some play groups.

We enjoyed playing outside and exploring ice when the weather has been cold.

We watched fireworks on you tube and made firework pictures and yummy edible sparklers.

We also enjoyed singing lots of nursery rhymes and learnt some new ones for nursery rhyme week.
We have a new story/song board and the children have loved being able to stick the pictures on and take them off when doing counting songs.

We started our Christmas crafts and went to see some Christmas decorations 🌲

We played with pumpkins exploring colours, shapes and textures, halloween crafts using glue, paint, glitter and different materials.

September...
All the children settled back really well after the summer holidays.

We have been practising name tracing, pencil control and how to use the scissors as well as naming and matching our colours.

We have built up our physical skills at the park and soft play climbing and exploring.

We have spent lots of time outside in the woods exploring leaves and sticks and playing hide and seek with our friends.

We have fed the ducks at stover and saltram, watched the fish at the aquarium and visited the animals at pennywell.

Some of my older ones have really enjoyed taking part in dough disco copying the hand and finger movements building up their muscles to help when holding a pencil.

We have been to some playgroups mixing with new children and taking part in lots of fun activities.

It's lovely to see strong friendships building and how my older ones look after the smaller ones, such kind and gentle children ❤️
