Wow what a fantastic afternoon! Thank you to all who came along. The sun made an appearance and it was so lovely to see everyone having fun, enjoying some food, playing games and socialising with one another!
What a great community ☀️
Here’s a snippet of photos from this afternoon but keep an eye out for individual class dojo posts as I am sure there will be more.
HAPPY INTERNATIONAL PICNIC DAY!

Bantham Class were extremely lucky to have a parent visitor this afternoon!
Serge’s mum came into our classroom to read the children a story. She brought props and encouraged the children to act out parts of the story, making it fun and engaging for everyone.
Bantham Class absolutely loves being read to. If any parents would like to come in and share a story with us, please let either Miss Davidson or Mrs O’Neill know at the door, and we can arrange a suitable time.
Thank you, Serge’s mum!

☕️🍫 Headship Hot Chocolate 🍫☕️
Another successful afternoon, celebrating some of our incredible children. They are the epitome of our school values and it was great to see how happy they were with their reward. The smiles say it all! 😀

In science today, Firestone looked at the impact different drinks had on the eggs. This was a representation of what might happen to our teeth if we don’t brush them after sugary drinks.
They finished the lesson using disclosing tablets to reveal the plaque build up. The children enjoyed looking at themselves in the mirror after. 🦷🪥

☀️🥾 Junior Ten Tors – Day 2 🥾☀️
What a fantastic second day on the moors!
After experiencing almost every type of weather Friday, Saturday couldn’t have been more different. The sun was shining, the views were spectacular, and the children made the most of every moment.
Throughout the day, the team continued to demonstrate excellent resilience, teamwork and determination. They supported one another, kept spirits high and tackled every challenge with enthusiasm and positivity.
It has been wonderful to watch their confidence grow as they develop their navigation, communication and outdoor skills. They have embraced every opportunity and have been a real credit to Whitleigh Primary School.
As Whitleigh’s first-ever Junior Ten Tors team, they have also started a legacy that will inspire future children to challenge themselves, step outside their comfort zones and experience the incredible opportunities that Dartmoor has to offer.
Both Mr PS and I are incredibly proud of every single one of them. Their behaviour, attitude and effort have been outstanding from start to finish.
Well done, Team Whitleigh – you’ve been amazing! 🌞🏞️👏💙

🌳 Forest School at Whitleigh Woods 🌳
This week, the children enjoyed their very first visit to Whitleigh Woods! They had a fantastic time exploring the woodland area and becoming familiar with their new outdoor learning environment.
During the visit, the children located the seating area, discovered a shelter that had been built previously, and explored the woods with great enthusiasm and curiosity.
The children represented The Cove brilliantly, showing respect for each other, the woodland and the wildlife around them. They are already looking forward to the next Forest School adventure! 🌿🍂✨

In Oasis this week, we have been learning about life under the sea and road safety. The children have really enjoyed using their imagination during painting activities and have created some wonderful artwork.
