On Friday, classes took part in Modern Foreign Languages day. Children tried foods from different countries, dancing and enjoyed some arts and crafts. The day was enjoyed by everyone, except Mr Weir, who by the look of his photo, did not like olives 🙃

From children developing their reading and phonics skills, to exploring and learning through continuous provision, there has been lots of purposeful learning taking place across our school today. We also want to give a special thank you to Paul, our caretaker, whose hard work helps keep our school grounds looking their very best for everyone to enjoy.

We are proud of the enthusiasm, curiosity and care shown by our pupils every day, and grateful for the dedication of our staff team who help make Woodfield such a positive place to learn and grow.

Our Year 6 children enjoyed a valuable water safety session at Tinside Lido on Monday afternoon this week, learning essential skills to help keep themselves and others safe around water.

The session helped pupils understand the differences between swimming in a pool and being in an open water environment. They learned about cold water shock, how to identify safe places to swim, and the Water Safety Code, as well as how to stay safe in and around water.

A fantastic opportunity to build confidence, awareness and potentially life-saving knowledge. Well done, Year 6! 🏊
