π« On Saturday, the University of Plymouth hosted the very first β a pioneering student paramedic conference.
π’ From HEMS () to HART, Primary Care to Expedition Medicine, the Army to Cruise Ships β attendees heard from experts across the full spectrum of paramedic careers. Paired with powerful keynote talks and invaluable exhibitors, the day was all about inspiring the next generation and opening doors to whatβs possible. We were also proud to welcome two Paramedic lecturers from β a fantastic inter-HEI collaboration.

Our third years has an intro to intubation today as part of PARA601 to help equip them for assisting in advanced airway skills whilst on placement. Itβs all about adjusting body position to get that perfect view by any means π€ well done all

Where has the time gone? Sorry that we have been a little quiet on this page, itβs been all hands on deck delivering the first semester. So much teaching already behind us, but above are some highlights
π PARA501: introducing advanced clinical skills to our year twos
π» PARA602: encouraging third year students to develop confidence in their decision making skills
π©Ί PARA401: introducing first years to all the skills required for their upcoming months of placement
Plus we celebrated the graduation of our 24/25 cohort π€©
And to top it all off, we started the spring semester with a simulated placement week held on campus! Bring on the rest of the year πͺπ»

Hugely exciting day today as our new cohort are sitting through their first day of induction week. Ian has walked them through the timetable for the week and introduced the team of lecturers. Later in the week they will learn about the Digital Learning Environment, academic writing and lots of other bits.
