We are so proud and excited to be working in a partnership project with the amazing Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment Education team here in Plymouth! World-class musicians from this incredible orchestra have been working in a number of schools, including Cann Bridge School in preparation for a performance later in June (more news to follow!).
The Cann Bridge sessions took place over several days, including learning Makaton signed songs, actions, creating brand new compositions and trying out some beautiful musical instruments. These lovely pictures shared by the school include the learners even trying out a violin from the late 1600's!
We will be sharing information about this collaborative project soon, but for now can report that the workshops have already been hugely impactful and meaningful for all involved. We are beyond grateful to the OAE Education team for bringing these high quality experiences to so many young people in our city.
Brilliant work, Cann Bridge learners - you are all absolute stars!
Many thanks to Devon Music Education Hub Department for Education Arts Council England

Many thanks for an amazing, invigorating, thought-provoking and enlightening conference last Friday, Devon Music Education Hub at the beautiful Buckfast Abbey conference centre!
Many of our PYMS team attended and contributed to the conference. We thoroughly enjoyed immersing ourselves in all that was on offer - being around our fellow tutors, subject leads, school teachers, educators, researchers and wonderfully vibrant community of people making a difference in the lives of young people through music. We were particularly struck by powerful words and messaging from keynote speaker, Dr Kadiatu Kanneh-Mason.
Plenty of practical music was made on the day, from harmony singing to samba, body percussion, improvisation and tech demonstrations and so much more in between.
Many thanks to everyone who put in all the hard work to bring this event together - it really mattered to all of us.
