Twiglets Professional childminder

Twiglets Professional childminder I have had my business since may 2012, and in Dec 2012 I had my first Ofsted inspection and rated Good! Before this I was a registered general nurse in the NHS.

I had a change of career after having my own two children, Connie 7 and Cassie 5. We live with my husband who works full time on the torpoint ferry, and share our home with 1 boarder collie dog, Sonney. I offer a range of activities from homemade crafts, basic cooking, reading stories with the popular story sacks. A lot of the play is children led, so whatever they want to play with can be adapted for learning, including the good old cardboard box! I also offer days out to parks, woodland walks, beaches and national trust sites. They also enjoy zoos, aquariums and local farms. All children will be entertained in a safe happy and secure home. On this page I will be posting a lot of photos of any activities we have done, or made, so please excuse the mess in the background! Haha, but any children you see will be my own, and if there are other children then I will have a signed consent for that from their parents or disguised!! September's fun! And Autumn has arrived 🍁🍂🍄 🎃 Arts and crafts, encouraging fine motor skills, and exploring the colours of autumn 🍁 Enjoying walks at Saltram.
Getting back to the gymnasium to keep active and learning how to use their gross motor skills, climbing, jumping, and getting out of the foam pit! (Never elegant getting out of one of those...I know!! 🤣)
Making friends at playgroup, encouraging confidence and social skills.
And making our own fun at home....A big cardboard box has always been, and always will be the best toy to get their imaginations flowing.
We've done all this and everyday encounters numbers/maths and speech and language.....and the best part?.....they don't even know they're learning. 😍

It's time to say Goodbye to one of my Twiglets 😭 from 7 months to 4 years old it's time for this one to move on to her next Chapter. I hate it when they have to go and hope that I've given them the best start in life.
Oozing personality this one has so much potential. 😍 And I'm going to miss her soooo much 🥲
Anyway, back to the summer holidays. Bag full of sun cream and water and no schedules!! Outdoors most of the time but the Aquarium offered relief.

Keeping the children cool and entertained has been a challenge but successful!
Top tips!- muslin cloths soaked in water and keep them in the freezer. ❄️
Spray water bottles on the the school run... 💦
Water fights 💦
River play🌊
Lots of ice poles! 😍
Patience-Even little ones get a little testy and frustrated.
But dealing with emotions is all part of the childminder's role.
Oh and the last picture, that's Doggy Yoga...your dog Murphy decided it was a good time for all the children to let off steam after school 🤣

Congratulations to all the children, parents and friends of Twiglets with our Carnival parade on Saturday ☺️the theme this year was Pilgrims and Pirates. A great day was had by all and it was lovely to see the parents mixing together as well as the children. And the weather was beautiful 🌞
AND WE WON FIRST PLACE FOR BEST FLOAT IN THE PARADE!! 😜😍🥇

Isn't it just amazing when you wake up and it doesn't feel like a work day. I love these kids so much, it doesn't feel like a chore. The better weather definitely helps and we're getting out and about and having such a great time. The kiddos don't realise they're learning so much, and I see them achieving something every day.

February and March fun!! Made cakes, made mother's day gifts, tuff tray activities including making our own winter Olympic park, then the sun came out and we made the most of that. 😁
All the usual play groups attended and our Swallows gymnasium sessions.
