A great week at Swindon Training Centre delivering S&C Maintenance. Candidates practiced triangulation of switches, measuring the angle of crossings, changing slide chairs, re-gauging switches using Back to Back Gauge and TEF3239. Lifting and packing S&C can be difficult sometimes but when candidates are keen to learn it helps with the teaching process.
Well done all.

Plain Line Maintenance done in Swindon. Small group but keen to learn.

A great day undertaking refresher training for calculating twist faults and repair using handheld stone blower and the Hilti Laser Level. This was done under the Wales and Western Intervention Project and all NR staff said they enjoyed the day and feel much more confident.

Another good 54 Crossing Inspection course completed at Bristol Parkway. Emphasis on checking underneath with mirrors and endoscope.

A challenging week running the pilot for the new Network Rail S&C Maintenance course in Bristol. A positive attitude from the eight delegates and also four observers from the NR support team ensured it was a success. Still some work to do but it was a good step forward with the development.
