Working in a collaborative environment to improve academic ability. Years of experience, fully insured, DBS checked. I am an experienced teacher and tutor, who specialises in helping to boost children’s confidence and achieve their full potential, for ages 7-11. BOOSTER SESSIONS - 1hr (£20):
The sessions are held in small groups of children of the same age. Learning with others collaboratively in

small groups will enable children to support each other and work together with a shared purpose and confidence. I am proud to announce that I employ Mrs Reynolds, a highly trained HLTA and Childcare Practitioner, who will be working alongside me in my groups to ensure every child receives an excellent, personalised learning experience. The main focus of sessions will be on improving reading skills, writing skills, storytelling, mathematical ability and problem solving. However, if there is a specific area your child needs to work on, we can ensure this is covered.

11+ TUITION - 1hr 15 minutes (£22.50)
All of my 11+ sessions are supported by my wonderful HLTA, Mrs Reynolds. Together we specialise in preparing students for the 11+ entrance exams. Classes are planned and taught according to the relevant skills needed to be fully prepared for the 11+ exams. I am a knowledgeable Plymouth Primary School teacher with experience across the primary age range. I have a particular interest in enabling children to reach their full potential, using interesting teaching strategies and by recognising various learning styles. I obtained my BEd Honours degree in Primary Teaching in Plymouth as a mature student and not only achieved a first class degree, but completed each of my placements as an ‘Outstanding’ Teacher. I am trained in the Safeguarding of Children. I am also Chair of Governors at a local Primary School and ensure that I keep up to date through continued professional development. I am married with two daughters, who have both attended Devonport High School for Girls. All adults working with your children hold a DBS check and also have Public Liability Insurance. It's Mini Maths Fun Day Week! A fabulous way to end a year in the classroom.

This week's hot weather has certainly been a challenge! ☀️🥵
To help keep our lovely children cool after working so hard, Mrs Hempsell has been treating everyone to an ice pop at the end of each session. 🍦💙
