And just like that another year is done!

As we head into the summer break, we’d like to say a BIG Thank You to all our wonderful dancers for being part of the HHDC community 💗

Here’s a few highlights…

🩰 Our ballerinas all danced so beautifully in their Royal Academy of Dance ballet exams. Photo shows our lovely Grade 2s in a mini photo shoot after their exam yesterday!
🦢The Silver Swans enjoyed a workshop with the legendary . A regular guest teacher at HHDC, Isaac’s knowledge and passion for all things dance continues to inspire us all.
🪑Our Seated Swans Ballet has been positively received by all participants. This inclusive ballet class (created by Linda) ensures our Silver Swan programme can be enjoyed by everyone regardless of mobility, age, fitness or experience.
🪭HHDC dancers of all ages (children, adults & swans) performed in Birmingham Royal Ballet Don Quixote community event at the Theatre Royal Plymouth. A wonderful experience for dancers.
🤩Student Success: our Ava successfully auditioned for the Swindon Dance CAT. This government funded contemporary dance programme is for talented young dancers considering a career in dance.
Congratulations Ava, you’re another step closer to achieving all your dance dreams.
🏆We were awarded Top 3 Dance Schools in Plymouth for another year by ThreeBestRated | Find the Best. Thank you for your continued support.
💗You may have seen Maryam on BBC Spotlight discussing the importance of dance for health and wellbeing. Dance For Life Devon CIC (our not for profit company) has delivered over 35 free Move to Nurture dance sessions this year. This unique dance for cancer care programme has been created by Linda & Maryam to support anyone affected by cancer and has been funded by the National Lottery Good Causes.
👙As part of our fundraising for Dance for Life Devon CIC we now have our very own bra bank at the studio courtesy of Fundraise & Recycle. Each donated bra earns us a few pennies, helping us keep our Move to Nurture sessions free to the local community.
🥵And we all danced through all the 3 heatwaves!!!!!

Wow, what a year.
For now we signing off for a little R&R before starting to plan for September😴🍸☀️

A big congratulations to our Ava who has successfully auditioned for the Swindon Dance CAT contemporary course. This is a government funded dance programme for talented young dancers from across Devon, Cornwall and Somerset. 👏🏼

Linda & Maryam will be at the event ‘Thrive Together tomorrow afternoon.

They’ll be leading a short Move to Nurture taster session and talk about their dance for cancer care project.

If you’re out and about in Plymouth City Centre pop by for a cup of tea and find about some of local cancer support groups we have in the city.

It will be relaxed afternoon, with plenty of tasters - singing, dancing, holistic therapies as well as organisations offering advice for anyone affected by cancer.

And just like that the Easter break is over and we’re back to the studio for another term of beautiful dancing 🩰

Over the break some of our Silver Swans enjoyed a Swan Lake masterclass with the wonderful 🦢

As always he inspired, motivated and gently guided our dancers. We are so lucky to have Isaac as part of of our workshop team and we can’t wait for his summer workshops! 💗

Wow, what a fabulous term we have had! 🤩

Classes have now stopped for the festive break and we’ll be back in January for Term 3 🎄
