Congratulations to the 2026 cohort of MRes Scientific Diving students on completing the HSE SCUBA course. This qualification is included in the program and allows the students to progress onto the next stage of their studies.
has just started the MRes Scientific Diving here at the University of Plymouth. We will follow him and the rest of his cohort throughout the course.
The first step is to complete the HSE SCUBA qualification. We consider this to be the minimum industry standard for scientific diving, and is covered as part of the MRes.
The MRes postgraduate degree in Scientific Diving is the first of its kind globally.
