📣 Onsite Enrichment at UTC Plymouth – Spaghetti Engineering Challenge! 🍝🏗️

Today’s onsite Enrichment took a creative turn as students were tasked with building spaghetti‑and‑marshmallow structures — a challenge that looked simple at first… until the spaghetti started bending and the marshmallows began sticking to everything except where they were meant to go.

Instead of focusing on speed or height, today was all about problem‑solving, experimenting, and adapting. Students tested different shapes, debated the strongest designs, and quickly discovered that triangles are their new best friend!

📣 UTC Plymouth at Longleat – Enrichment Week Adventure! 🦁🌿

Yesterday, another one of our UTC Plymouth Enrichment Week groups set off for a full day exploring the incredible Longleat Safari & Adventure Park.

Our students spent the day discovering everything from lions lounging in the sun to cheeky monkeys causing chaos in the safari drive‑through. The excitement was nonstop as they moved between the animal habitats, learning about conservation, behaviour and the unique stories behind each species.

The Longleat trip offered a brilliant chance for students to step outside their usual routine, connect with nature, and share an experience they’ll be talking about for a long time.

📣 UTC Plymouth Hits Contunie Arcade! 🎮✨

Our Enrichment Week outing took UTC Plymouth into the neon‑lit fun of Contunie Arcade, where competitive spirits were high and bragging rights were very much on the line.😉🤣

It was the perfect mix of friendly rivalry and “wait, how did you beat me?!” moments.

📣 UTC Plymouth at Crealy – Enrichment We

Our UTC Plymouth students swapped classrooms for wide‑open spaces as they spent the day exploring Crealy Theme Park & Resort.

It was fantastic to see students supporting each other, celebrating small wins and stepping into activities they might not normally try. Enrichment Week is all about broadening experiences and yesterday’s visit to Crealy delivered exactly that.🎢🎡🎠

📣 UTC Plymouth Takes Over the Eden Project! 🌱😄

Yesterday’s Enrichment Week adventure saw our UTC Plymouth group head deep into the biomes of the Eden Project.

From stepping into the Rainforest Biome (aka: the world’s most effective free sauna) to wandering through the Mediterranean Biome with its sunshine‑soaked pathways, students explored ecosystems from across the globe without ever leaving Cornwall. They learned how plants adapt, how environments thrive, and how humidity can make you instantly regret wearing a hoodie.

🌲🎢 UTC Plymouth Takes on Woodlands Adventure Park! 🎢🌲

Our Enrichment Week adventures continued today with a full day at Woodlands Adventure Park. From high‑speed rides to dodging water splashes, conquering climbing zones and getting just a little competitive on the slides 😄💦

There were screams, laughs, heroic attempts at staying dry (unsuccessful) and enough adrenaline to power the whole school. Whether they were racing their friends, exploring the play zones or enjoying some well‑earned chill time, the UTC spirit was out in full force. 💛⚡

We are so excited to welcome families to our upcoming open evening to explore what makes us stand out as a mainstream, STEM-curriculum school. 🧪⚙️📐

Another fantastic Enrichment Week adventure for UTC Plymouth! 🌟🌲

Our Art & History enrichment group spent the day stepping back in time at Morwellham Quay and it was the perfect mix of learning, adventure and discovery. Students took part in a traditional Victorian school lesson including slate boards, strict rules and all, before heading underground to explore the historic mine. ⚒️⛏️

They even tried breaking rocks to search for copper ore, getting a real taste of the hard graft that shaped the industrial past. And of course… no visit would be complete without an obligatory bit of Victorian dressing up! 🎩📜
